All Tied Up
I love how versatile and soft this rope is. I've never been familiar with rope play, and this really does make a great beginner's rope. It's super long, which means you can do a lot with it and can experiment in all kinds of ways. It's a great rope to have in your toy box, for whenever you're feeling like something a little extra and different in bed.Published: March 7, 2011
Pros:
Long, soft, strong, and super versatile.
Cons:
Does not come with any knot directions.
We've never done rope play, not really. There have been the occasional cuffs or scarves used, but never anything big or extreme. This rope was almost the perfect pick for our first time. It's soft (although I kind of doubt whether it's really made of silk, and not some silk/cotton mix), strong, and definitely versatile. It's also very approach-able. A lot of bondage products have a certain... intimidation that goes along with them. They’re supposed to look that way, yes, but it can potentially scare off those who’ve never done that kind of thing. This beginner’s product doesn’t have that problem at all. It actually kind of looks like a gigantic shoelace. That’s not all that sexy, but what you can do with it is a different story.
The greatest thing about this rope is its fantastic versatility. Pretty much anything you want to do with a rope can be done with this. Whether it’s simple wrist or ankle ties, hog ties, or intricate knots all over the place, you’re likely to manage it with this slim, soft rope. Its softness could be considered a downside if you're looking for something a little more rough. I do know a few people who are into things like rope burns. If that's what you're looking for, you're going to have to work a little harder with this rope. It's not impossible, but because of how soft it is, it takes a little extra effort than a normal rope.
The downside (for the first time) was how very very long it is. While this is definitely a positive thing about the rope, for our first time it threw us off a little. "Okay, I've got your wrists but...what do I do with the rest of the rope???" Luckily, after a little creativity it was solved by pulling the leftover and tying it under the bed.
The packaging is definitely not discreet- a large white box with high quality images of sexy girls all tied up. An awesome little bonus was the blindfold included in the box. Silky on the inside and thicker on the outside (so no light gets through), and it stays on pretty well, with only a small space by your nose that might be seen through. It actually kind of conforms to your face, which is odd at first but kind of neat.
It also picks up lint a little too well, so try to keep it off the floor!

Experience
It took a little extra time for me to write this review because I really have no experience with rope play, and I was hoping to get a little more experience with it before writing about it. Unfortunately life has been a little too busy for any real play time, so I'm still pretty close to where I started. What I can tell you about my experience with this rope is that it works great for tying up; the rope is so long that even after adequately tying up the wrists or ankles, there's still room to pull the ends and tie them to something.
My rope was first used for Valentine's Day, and I picked up the process really quickly, and if I can do it, I'm pretty sure any beginners can.

"fetish fantasy series japanese silk rope" -- not silk
-
LazyNinjalink manufacturers page states that this rope is actually made out of cotton.
Talk about a misleading/lying branding system. Is Japanese Silk a trademark of theirs that they make out of chinese cotton?

'Silk' bondage rope listed under 'suspension kits'
-
Hey, Eden? I would like to respectfully suggest you remove this from the 'suspension kits' category. This type of rope is *not* safe for suspension. It's not real silk (Pipedream has confirmed it is actually a cotton/polyester blend), so can fray easily, stretch, and is just a poor idea if you don't want to risk dropping your submissive on their head.

I made sure to put in my review that the rope is not intended for suspension or partail suspension

what are they made of
-
This is a question that could easily be answered by reading the product page! If you just scan it really quickly you can see that hey, these silk ropes are made of rope! It also gives you a link explaining the care of the materials, which is this link! A lot of these questions are better left off of the forums! :)

But yeah, materials are always listed on the product's page, billybobtoy. It'll always be to the left of the product's picture, and it'll link to some basic care instructions. Though if you need more in-depth information, don't hesitate to ask.
