There is something about picking up and holding a paddle in your hand…you just want to use it!!! Especially when that paddle is long and wide, and especially when it smells of leather.

When I received my first package in the mail for product review, to say I was excited is an understatement. I ripped into that box, shoving the Styrofoam peanuts aside and whooped with joy when I saw my reward: the Angelic Dreams Spank Her by Ruff Doggie Styles in Leather.

The first thing that caught my eye about this paddle, was the sheer beauty of it. Grrrls that like it rough are still girls after all, and I was immediately struck (actually, the striking comes a little later, let’s say I was taken) by the delicate art that lay before me. On one side of the paddle is an exquisitely detailed picture featuring cherubs, faeries, flowers and the like. I would call it Victorian almost. This side of the paddle has some padding which I later learned can be of some benefit.

As soon as I took the paddle out of the wrapping, the smell of leather immediately filled my nostrils. I am a smelly, touchy feely girl and my senses were entering overload as I held this prize in my hand. Never mind the fact I had yet to put this product to use; I was already sold, and couldn’t wait to actually test it out.

My male partner and I got busy that evening. I got on all fours on the bed and waited impatiently. He rubbed my bottom with his hand and then smack! If I had to sum this product up in one word, I would say EFFECTIVE. My boyfriend is a big, strong boy and he didn’t have to use much force for me to get the effect. In fact, it was only after a few minutes that my bottom had turned quite pink and G hadn’t even broken a sweat. The bottom line (ha ha) is this product is terrific. Not only is it beautiful, you don’t have to break your arm trying to lay a smackdown on your sweetie, although s/he will probably love you for trying. This is definitely not a starter toy for a couple new to spanking, but a great addition to a toybox of an experienced dom or those looking for maximum impact with moderate effort.

As someone who is known to go out of her way to be bad enough to warrant some punishment, I plan to be practically intolerable now that this baby is in the house.
