Black jaguar cuffs by ASLAN Leather - review by Taylor

The Black Jaguar Cuffs from Aslan Leather are a very sturdy set of leather cuffs that are also very comfortable. They are meant as wrist restraints but for those with smaller frames they can also be used for ankle restraints. They are very strong and hold up well for bondage, and can definitely withstand quite a bit of struggling. These are not meant for suspension, so for safety's sake it's probably best to avoid using them for that. They are very high quality and come with a lifetime guarantee from the manufacturer and if it breaks or is damaged from normal usage it will be replaced.

The Jaguar cuffs have a simple, but very functional design. They are made of black leather with metal hardware. They are made with 2 straps of leather held together by riviets. The cuffs are not padded, but the leather is so soft that additional padding isn't really necessary. It is high quality leather and has a slight leather scent to it which is very nice. There is a metal D ring where you can attach rope, snap hook, or whatever else you like to use to restrain (or be restrained by) your partner. The ring is secured by 4 rivets so it is really on there good and shouldn't come off even with a lot of struggling. The cuffs are fastened by a buckle similar to one you would find on a belt.



There is a loop on the buckle of each cuff where you can put a lock. Just be sure and do all of your adjusting before you put the lock on because the size can't be adjusted while the lock is on.



The sizing can be adjusted and there are 6 different holes that the buckle can go through so it should be able to fit most people. The cuffs are 12" long and 2' wide and are made to fit wrists that are 6.5" up to 8.5" in circumference.

The cuffs have worked great for us so far in the few months that we have had them. They were comfortable to me from the very first time I wore them though they were a little bit stiff. They have become even more comfortable as they have continued to "break in." I am able to wear them for several hours at a time without them becoming bothersome. The tag may be a bit itchy for some people, but it really hasn't been for me. It could certainly be removed if it became a bother to the person wearing it.



They have definitely met our needs in terms of function. So far we have used ropes and snap hooks with them and both of these have worked beautifully with the cuffs. They would also work great with other BDSM pieces such as a spreader bar. They are versitile enough to be used in scenes where heavy duty cuffs are needed, but not so bulky that they would seem like overkill in a scene that's not so extreme. They haven't shown any wear and tear and I am fully confident that they will last a very long time.

They are simple to put on and take off, but can be a little tricky to put on by yourself with one hand. If tightened correctly, they won't slip around a lot, but they may become a little bit sweaty after awhile especially if in a warmer room.

These cuffs aren't too hard to take care of. I use a damp cloth to wipe them off when needed, but using a leather cleaner would work too. It is important to store them in a dry place because moisture can ruin your leather. Doing this as well as keeping your leather out of direct sunlight should keep your cuffs in great shape.

There really wasn't much packaging to speak of. The cuffs just came wrapped in some plastic wrap and didn't have any directions with it. I would suggest if you are planning on buying this as a gift for someone to remove it from its plastic and put the cuffs in a nicer looking box.

This is my very first set of cuffs and I couldn't be happier with them. They are very comfortable to wear even when my partner is putting me in uncomfortable positions, much more comfortable than using rope. The locking part is exciting and a lot of fun. I love that I don't get marks from using them like I often would with rope. I love these cuffs and I am really glad that these are the ones I picked because they have worked so well for us.
