I was excited to get the Beginner's Fantasy Kit. It arrived just in time for my weekend away with my partner. One of his fantasies was for me to tie him up, but to be honest; the idea of tying lots of knots really freaks me out. I am just not that handy, so the kit gave me a pretty good opportunity to explore this fantasy.

My first impression of the Beginner's Fantasy bondage kit is that it is at the right price point. When it comes to this type of play, you get what you pay for. And, this lower price point speaks volumes. I must add a caveat to that though. This IS a light bdsm kit, so the price is absolutely perfect. The quality is absolutely perfect for its purpose. It is designed to fulfill your fantasies of being restricted and depriving your senses, and it does exactly that.

The cuffs are very soft and comfortable. Aside from consent, one of the biggest concerns with any kind of bondage and fetish is safety, no matter how playful or lightweight you want to be. Safety is always first, and one of the best features of this kit is how easy it is to get in and out of the cuffs; no difficult knots to deal with!

We faced a few challenges with the kit though. First, the bed in our hotel did not have legs or posts to attach the straps to. We were able to rig up some loops with additional rope to attach the straps. However, under normal circumstances this should not be a major obstacle. There are a few points about the straps that I should mention here that could be of use to someone. The nylon webbing has some benefits and some drawbacks.

First, they have plenty of length to do what you need to do. They are easy to tie off. However, the webbing has a bit of stretch to it, so if you are looking for a lot of restraint, keep this in mind. Also, if a lot of stress is put on the webbing the knots will tighten up enough to make them almost impossible to untie.

I give the Beginner's Fantasy Kit three stars. It is intended for light bondage "play", but I found the overall construction and appearance to be less than what I would usually want in a toy. It still served its purpose very well. My partner looked wonderful splayed out for me to take advantage of.
