Beginners Need Not Apply
A fantastic toy for the advanced player looking to inflict pain. We've used this style of clamp for many different styles of play and it just never gets old. These are your last step before having to start shopping for clamps at the hardware store.Published: September 19, 2011
Pros:
Fantastic design, great style, lots of pain (if that's what you're looking for)
Cons:
Lots of pain, advanced toy, metal clamps holding on the nubs
If you are into some seriously hardcore nipple torture then these bad boys are a must have for your toy chest. Based on a very simple engineering concept these bad boys will put the hurt on your tender nipples. The key to the tightness is in the end, no not the business end, the other end where the chain is attached. The harder you tug on that chain the tighter they get.
While this in itself isn't all that important, it's a key element when putting weights on the end of the chain. The more weight you put on, the stronger they grip and this isn't to say they can't slip, because they do. Trust me, when they slip, that's a whole other level of pain. It's for this reason and many other that these are considered advanced, hence why beginners need not apply.
The clamps themselves are beautifully designed, these in particular are made out of a food grade metal, of which type I apologise I am not sure. If I had to take a guess I would say food grade stainless steel due to that "metallic" smell that rubs off on your hands. I don't notice this smell in many of the aluminium toys and objects I have. The visual appeal is nice, done in a black with a black anodised chain. I did notice a slight bit of chipping to the clamps themselves but only in one spot and after having been tossed around our toy bag for quite awhile. The pads at the business end are held on securely with 4 bent metal prongs and are done in a complimenting white color. The pads themselves have 5 raised nubs on the surface, I did not notice much difference of the texture, I'm going to assume the nubs are there for more gripping potential.
There are many different versions of these guys out there and it's up to personal preference what color you choose to purchase. We liked the black and have a couple of pairs in black and several in silver.

Experience
We've used this style of clamp for several years now and even still to this day there are times where it's almost unbearable to have them on. Take note though that the longer you keep them on, the worse it is to take them off. And while these clamps are almost always billed as nipple clamps, they are GREAT on other body parts including the testicles, labia, the under side of your arm and other extremely sensitive spots. Basically anywhere you want to pinch and inflict lots of pain these guys are your go to implement.
More advanced play with these includes attaching weights to the chains, dropping said weights, and leaving them on for significantly longer and longer periods of time (be careful with this to not cause permanent damage).

Thank you for viewing Butterfly – bondage toy review page!

Thanks for all the elaborate detail... I'm just starting with nipple play so I think these will be far over the horizon. How *do* you recommend people start?
Great review! I'm a wimp, not sure this would be something I could stand! Hahaha!
My recommendation on a good starter clamp is anything that is light and or adjustable. These include any of the styles with a thumb screw and the tweezer style clamps. If you want to see if you're even interested in nipple play a simple clothes pin (some are tighter than others) will give you a VERY light sensation.
As you get further into nipple play you'll start to realize that the pain doesn't really come from the clamp (well it does....sort of) but the removal of said clamp after awhile. The blood rushing back into those tissues is actually what causes the majority of the pain.
Awesome job on your review! Thanks for sharing. You got my vote for upgrade!
Ouch that sounds like more then I want to play with. Thanks for the review.
I really like the sound of these clamps...wishlisting these babies right now, thanks for the awesome first review!
