The Beginner Ball Gag is a great way to add spice to your sexy time. It's great for light and heavy scene play. The description says that it's for beginners and I suppose it can be. Personally I think this will work best for someone who is a little more advanced in using or having a ball gag. The ball is a bit big, which may make it hard to wear for someone who is new or has a smaller mouth.

The ball gag itself is made of silicone while the straps are made of leather. There are snaps on one end of each strap that hook into the ball gag. The closure is Velcro. We haven’t used it very often and but I think it's fairly well made. The leather straps are sturdy. The only concern would be that it might fray a little after time. The silicone is soft but firm. You can bite down on it and there will be a little give to it. This makes it more comfortable to wear. When you are not using it and have dogs, please be sure to put it away or keep it in a place where the dogs can’t get it, or they will think it’s a toy and you will find it in your living room with little teeth marks on it. Trust me, not fun.

The gag did not come pre-assembled; so I did have to attach the straps to the gag. There were no instructions included and while it looked fairly simple, I personally had a hard time assembling it for the 1st time. There is only one way to assemble this gag. That way when it's all put together the soft side of the leather is against the skin. The holes on either side of the gag are a little smaller than the leather straps. This ensures a nice snug fit. It can be a bit of a pain to feed the straps through the holes because they are smaller. The silicone is thinner on the sides, so it's stretchy; and this will make it a little easier assembling the gag.

There is only one real use for this toy, and it’s a great way to silence your partner, in a way. While yes, the talking is eliminated, your partner can still moan. It’s a great way to set the mood if you are doing scene play. Simply place the gag in your mouth or your partner's mouth and then fasten the straps. The closure is Velcro so it’s adjustable. And if you have a small head like me, you will be happy to know that this will fit snugly. I must have a small mouth or I’m still working up to the gag, because after a while my jaw did get sore and I had to take it out.

The gag is made of silicone and does have a slight smell and taste that will go away after time. I did wash it right away and that did help with both the taste and smell. Cleaning is simple. It’s stated that it can be fully sanitized and is dishwasher safe. However, I don’t think it's really necessary but nice to know. What I do is just wipe it down with warm water and a mild soap. Of course you can always use your favorite toy cleaner. For the leather straps, I don’t think it’s necessary to clean every time so I just use a damp rag and wipe them down. Just make sure they are dry so that you don’t damage the leather.

I like the ball gag, but I can't say that I love it. The gag is a little big for me. However the more I wear it, the longer I can wear it. It really can set the mood. Wearing the gag makes me wet just knowing what's going to be happening. Without the ability to talk, the only way I can show the Captain how much I am enjoying myself is to moan. The Captain likes to have the ability to control when I can speak or not, so I removed the straps. That way, he can take the gag out at any time and he doesn't have to worry about unstrapping it every time. Every time I put in the ball gag it puts me in the mindset and makes me feel "helpless;" which ultimately makes me feel more dominated.

I like it but don't love it. I prefer to make my sub say things so having her silenced only works in specific situations. To me, it's just a tool and doesn't add any ambiance for me. It doesn't do anything for me, but I do enjoy it because my sub enjoys it.

I really like this gag. I love the thought and idea of being gagged even if the Captain doesn't like it as much as me. Personally, I think I just have a small mouth because I cannot wear it for long periods of time. The straps are comfortable enough and haven't showed much wear and tear. Much to my dismay, it doesn't get used very often. The ball gag is made of a nice soft silicone that has a little give to it when you bite down. The silicone has really held well. There is only a few tiny dimples and that even after the dogs have gotten to it. I think I need to suggest to the Captain to use this more often.
