Black and blue frat paddle by Spartacus - review by BBW Talks Toys

The Black and Blue frat paddle by Spartacus is a delicious paddle for intermediate to advanced BDSM players. This is great for spanking buttocks, thighs, legs, arms, breasts, or anywhere really that you would like to be spanked provided you take care to aim your hits wisely and with the right amount of force for the area in question. As part of the Black and Blue line from Spartacus, if you like to match there are lots of options available for accessorizing your play sessions such as restraints, a collar, and a whip.

I really like the size of this paddle. It measures just over 16 inches from end to end, not including the strap. The body of the paddle is roughly 11 inches long and is fairly narrow at just over 3 inches. The handle is great for wider hands at about 4 inches. Since the body is so long, it easily covers both cheeks in one swat. This is ideal for those who like to be spanked on both cheeks; however, you can easily isolate the area by changing your aim and control over the paddle.

This paddle is made of leather. For other leather lovers out there, this has a very mouth-watering leather smell. It's also extremely well-made. The paddle appears to be two very thick pieces of black leather that are glued together to hold the stabilizer inside. There is a thin piece of royal blue leather that is glued to one side, then it is stitched for reinforcement. The stitching is secure all the way around and the grommet used for sealing the area where the hanging strap is attached is secure. I gather that this paddle will hold its integrity and craftsmanship for a long time. This is my first Spartacus product and if this paddle is any indication, I will be more than happy to invest in more. The hanging strap is a strip of leather that is tied. If the strap bothers you, you can easily untie it and remove it. You can also loop the strap around your wrist for added stability while in use.

I rarely find a reason to need to clean this toy. We never draw blood and have yet to even get lubricant on it. However, if you do ever have cause to clean it, simply wipe it down with a damp (not wet) rag. If you are the type of player who would draw blood, you want to make sure to only use this on one person and not share as there's no way to sterilize leather.

This paddle delivers a decadent sting to any part of the body you want to use it on. The only drawback I've found in the use of this is that the stabilizer in the paddle doesn't actually stabilize it too well. There's a very "whippy" quality to the paddle that makes the sting a little more painful on the far end of the paddle (opposite of the handle) and it ends up being where most of the impact is felt. There is definitely the potential to cause some serious damage with this toy, especially due to the more flexible nature of the paddle, so you want to exercise caution, unless you are into that type of pain/bruising.

The reason I would not advise this paddle for brand new spankers is because of the fact that it's a little whippy. It takes a lot of practice and control to and know-how of where you want to spank and how much force is needed to create the sting you want. That being said, this was our first paddle, but we are not new to spanking and have had lots of practice with crops and other paddle-type household objects; but it still took some practice to understand the mechanics of it.

This paddle more than met our expectations!
