The Mahogany Flogger by Sex and Mischief is a great toy for beginners and those active in spanking activities. Made of faux-leather with a vinyl handle, this flogger is light to handle and won't tire you arm after an extended scene.

My hubby and I practice BDSM, and when I ordered this I was afraid that it wouldn't provide enough sting for my liking. The first time we used it, he started gentle, running it up and down my body and the sensation was fantastic. Once the spanking started it created a stinging sensation which was very easy to tolerate. But as we progressed and his swings became stronger, the flogger really did a good job, causing just enough pain. By the time we were done my ass was a nice bright red with the perfect amount of radiating heat. Even after a long session, the flogger did not leave any marks that were visible the next day.

Although it can be used with some force, if you are looking for something that will make you cringe with each swing this is probably not the piece for you.

Designed like a typical flogger, this Sex and Mischief piece has a six inch vinyl covered handle with a deep burgandy color. The interior of the handle is a solid piece of wood and the whole things is held together with a study metal stud. I have had no difficulty with this piece and it still holds as strong as it did the first time we used it. The handle has ridges, which assist on keeping a good grip on it if your palms tend to get sweaty. It has a ten inch faux leather wrist strap.

There are 15 falls, which are just over 18 inches long. Each fall is about a quarter inch wide, and less than an eight of an inch thick. Made of faux leather, each of these has a shiny side and a soft side. They are uniform in look and length.

After having this piece for over a month, on a few of the falls there are a few spots where they have 'frayed' (for lack of a better term), where a few very small white strings are noticable along the edges.

Obviously, this is designed for flogging, and can be used for sensation play as well by dragging it along your lover's skin. The falls are a bit long and if you don't have much experience with swinging a flogger it would be beneficial to practice with this before using. When the falls are long, it is easy for them to wrap around your partner's body; sometimes hitting places that you would rather not hit. Therefore, knowing how the flogger swings and lands can be very helpful.

Swung lightly this flogger creates a pleasant stingy feeling that, with a little experience, can be endured for quite awhile. When used with some force this piece can induce strong sensations leaving red in its wake. If used heavy for awhile, it is possible that it may leave some light red marks or buises. But we haven't experience this and it would have to be from some strong, heavy, continuous hits.

I suggest storing this flogger where you can keep the falls relatively straight, as they will hold a crease for quite a bit of time. While we haven't had any problems with this so far,it doesn't make the flogger look as nice when a few of the falls are bent out of shape. That being said, if you fold it up when you put it away and pay attention to how you lay it down, this won't be an issue.

The Mahogany Flogger shouldn't need cleaned very often, unless it comes in contact with body fluids or lube. If this happens or if you would just like to shine it up, simply wipe the falls and/or handle with a damp cloth and let air dry.

The Sex and Mischief Flogger comes in a clear plastic wrap and is very minimal. There were no instructions, but come on, a flogger's a flogger. The plastic is cheap and not designed to be reused for storage.

My hubby and I engage in a D/s dynamic and enjoy spanking and all its variations. Liking different levels of sensations, we have rubber floggers, leather, paddles and a belt. I must say, I seem to always perfer his hand above all else. I share this because we like different levels of play and pain and the Mahogany Flogger provides us this in one toy. Although it doesn't create super intense stings or thuds, after a build up, this can be quite stimulating.
