Whenever I look at a pair of
Captivity Cuffs, the only thing that comes to mind is back in my high school days when I’d go to a novelty store, gawking at the cheap sex toys that come nothing close to the high-quality
BDSM toys that I own today. As I recall, right next to these kinds of cuffs would be gag gifts, lubricant that’s advertised as sour candy in a tube, and banana flavored condoms. Ick, not my idea of what I consider sexy let alone erotically appealing when
bondage restraints are concerned. But let’s face it,
Captivity Cuffs, especially the fuzzy kind, conveys strong images of the naïve and horny teenager in all of us that simply wanted a pair of fuzzy handcuffs. Maybe “peer pressure” might explain it: just about everyone else had a pair of these playmates, either to tease or to please. Nothing wrong with it of course; these are pretty decent beginner level handcuffs.
The handcuffs are made of metal, easy to put on, and easy to take off even with your eyes closed, as long as you have the key. The keys are pretty cheaply made, but as long as they get you out of the cuffs okay, then that’s all that matters. They fit comfortably at the wrists, but I don’t necessarily find them powerful or restrictive enough to give me this sensation of being helplessly bound or restrained. I don’t even find the fuzzy sheaths to be all that noticeably comfy; you can easily slip them off, which doesn’t really change the sensation of the cuffs either. It still feels like hard and cold metal handcuffs regardless, nothing special.
They function perfectly with a Police costume, which is the only time I feel like using these cuffs. But if you want to purchase these for your lover as a sweet and naughty Valentine’s Day present, or give it to your sweetie just because its Wednesday, it will surely enhance things in the bedroom, especially if you want to explore
light bondage but aren’t the least bit interested in going anyplace further into the expensive leather wrist/ankle cuffs spectrum of
BDSM products.
All in all, there’s nothing wrong with simple, good ol’ fashion metal handcuffs, the kind that you could get in just about any novelty shop. To this day I still don’t find myself in “captivity” with the
Captivity Cuffs, but without a doubt it does what it intends to do and as a starter point before you’d want to delve into more expensive, higher quality restraints in the future, when and if you desire to.
