If you want something sparkly and frilly, then get something else. This collar means business. This is a wonderful product to lead your sub around the house, or dungeon, while it is also excellent for bondage, as it has bondage rings to anchor straps or whatever you wish. On another note, it is excellent for the beginner, as it is very comfortable, and good for the veteran, as it is sturdy. Having a large area for adjusting the size, it fits people with very small necks, as well as people with larger necks.

While it isn't girly, it isn't gender-specific either. The collar is quite sturdy and has a place to lock the buckle, so that stubborn sub cant get out of it without permission. The collar is made of genuine leather, and there are no metal studs or rivets on the backside, so it is perfect for anyone who has a metal allergy but wants a high quality collar. The rings are all high quality stainless steel and can take a notable amount of force. It fits my neck loosely, as I have a very small neck, but it isn't so loose that it is pointless. On my fiance's neck it is snug with room to adjust either way. I believe that it will fit the majority of users from somewhat small to large.

The first thing I did after I got it out of the box was start inspecting it. I pulled on the ends, felt the leather, and played with the rings. Then I tried it on. I was excited to find that not only were all the parts strong, but it was also comfortable. The parts that go against the skin are already soft, so I didn't have to "break it in." I did find that I was able to anchor my partner's wrists to the center ring, proving a useful tease, as his hands were close to me, but he couldn't touch me. I have had the collar for five months now, and the only parts showing wear are the holes in the strap for the buckle, which is to be expected, as ALL leather stretches to some degree with use. For longer sessions, the edges don't chafe as one might expect. Despite how heavy it feels in the hand, it doesn't feel nearly as heavy on the neck. It is also much easier to put on someone else than it is to put on yourself.

I prefer to lay the collar flat when it isn't in use, just to help preserve the integrity of the leather. But it would hold up to being tossed into a toy box loosely as well. If it gets dirty I only wipe it with a damp cloth. Never submerge it, as leather does poorly when wet.
