The Extreme pure gold cuffs are interchangeable ankle and wrist restraints. They are meant for light bondage. The person being restrained will be able to move their ankles or wrists, but only around 8 or 9" apart. These cuffs use buckles, which are adjustable to over 8" and fit even very small wrists and ankles. A D-link is used to connect the chain to the two cuffs. They are not vegan friendly, but are made of fairly safe materials. There are no additional purchases required to use these so they are ready right out of the box.

The extreme pure gold cuffs are made from polyurethane and metal. The Edenfantasys safety index rates these a 7 out of 10, 10 being the safest quality materials. The product is advertised as 24k gold, but I can't tell you what on the product is. Even the metal chain and hardware are silver, not even gold colored. This isn't a big deal to me, but the fact that they advertised it and there is none anywhere is a little confusing.

The material on the inside of the cuffs is surprisingly comfortable and doesn't irritate the skin. I wore these without the chain while doing work just to see if they would irritate me and they were surprisingly fine, minus glitter getting everywhere. It reminds me of pleather in the way it looks and feels. The outside material of the cuffs is covered in gold and bronze glitter with leopard designs in black velvet. I actually like the look of the cuffs; they aren't as gaudy as I expected them to be. There is one line of straight stitching about 1/2cm from the edges.
Since the material is not connected all the way to the edges, you can pull the two parts away from each other. I did this and gave the parts a few tugs to see if the stitching would still hold up, which it did. I can't say the same about the chain.

When I first took out the cuffs to look at them, I put them on and gave a medium, not hard, tug and the chain broke immediately. I managed to fix it, even though I don't have tools at the moment. I found it disappointing that if, during use, the wearer jerks their hands or feet, the chain will just break. Bummer, but again, these aren't top quality cuffs either so what can you expect? The chain is about 23cm/9" long. A shorter chain would have been nice, but I guess since they don't hold up to much its better they have more give so they don't break constantly. Thankfully, the other hardware like the D rings are very securely attached so that will provide no problems.



Size matters a lot when buying cuffs. I have small wrists (about 14.5cm/5.7") and these fit. There are 4 holes for the buckle, ranging from 15cm/6" to 22cm/8.7" around. I have used these as both ankle and hand cuffs. If these need to be removed in an emergency, you can easily unclip the chain attachment from the D-rings or unbuckle the cuffs with ease. I found this easy to do by myself, but with another person will be even easier. Getting them on your wrists by yourself is the slightly harder part. Remember to always use caution and be safe when participating in any kind of bondage.

The biggest let down of these cuffs is the chain. If it was more durable, I would give these a better rating. The whole point of cuffs is to restrain someone; if you have to worry about the wearer jerking their hands or feet and the chain breaking, it defeats the purpose. I'm not saying it has to be extremely high quality metal, but at least so it doesn't break in light bondage would be nice.

The packaging does not mention any cleaning instructions. For cleaning the inside part, just wiping it down with a damp cloth does the trick. For the outside portion with all the glitter, I'm not really sure how you would go about cleaning that part. If you wipe it down, the glitter will most likely come off more and the velvety portions might get gross. Sadly, my best advice is to not get the outside of the cuffs dirty, and if you do, just use a damp cloth to wipe off or pat the dirty area to keep them looking nice. To prevent them from getting dirty, I store them back in the plastic bag or cardboard box they came in.

These cuffs come in a cardboard box with a clothed blonde lady wearing them on the front and sides, with a picture of the cuffs by themselves on the back. The packaging is not discreet and advertises extreme pure gold 24 karat leopard cuffs. You can recycle the box or use it to store the cuffs since they will get glitter everywhere (seriously, just touch them and you will be glittery). If you save the plastic bag they come in when you open the box, you can use that for storage as well. A few bullet points list the main features of these cuffs: adjustable, comfortable soft lining, fully adjusts up to 7.75", heavy-duty with removable universal hardware, and opulent metallic and velvet leopard print. No instructions were included, however I feel that they aren't really needed. The packaging is simple, but not luxurious looking like a LELO product, if you planned on giving these to someone as a special gift.

I don't mean to be harsh, but I am here for writing honest reviews. These are good cuffs if you want to do light bondage, but won't hold up to much. As previously mentioned, the chain broke after only a medium tug. The chain is long and weak, the glitter sheds everywhere. They aren't all bad, though; they have a fun look, don't irritate the skin, and can be worn for longer periods of time. If you have a better chain to replace the one it comes with, you might enjoy these a lot more, since the other hardware (like the D-link) are very durable. While California Exotics does include a warranty through Vibetronics, I know it isn't worth it, after previously dealing with their warranty and paying for shipping there and back, and waiting forever for the product to get back to me. If the chain breaks, just get a pair of pliers and close the chain back up.

I'm really bummed about the chain being so weak. Compared to metal cuffs I own, and metal cuffs with the fuzzy bits on them, they are a lot more comfortable. If only I could combine that chain with the comfortable feeling of these leopard cuffs. While the cuffs were comfortable, they weren't amazing. I feel like something with a soft fleece lining on the inside would be more comfortable, especially for long play sessions. The glitter thing is also a bit of a pain, especially if they get dirt on the outside part and you have to find a way to wash them. Thankfully, I have been careful about not getting mine dirty but I'm hoping when they do, clean up won't be too bad. If you want a first pair of cuffs for light restraint, these are for you. Those looking for more serious play should look elsewhere.
