The plastic package that the Heart Leather Ankle Restraints come in is simple and attractive. There is a small emblem that simply reads “Play!”. The images are tasteful and the entire packaging is non-intimidating, making these a great choice for those looking to purchase their first set of cuffs. With these cuffs, PHS international goes away from its normally vegan friendly line. Don’t worry though - the leather on these cuffs is very nice. They don’t shed and it feels soft and supple against the skin.

Leather is easily cared for with a proper leather cleaner and leather conditioner. Just be aware that you cannot completely sanitize leather, so if blood or bodily secretions (other than sweat) should get on them, you may want to consider not sharing them. The design is relatively sex neutral. The black leather looks great against the skin and the small red hearts that are indented makes them a little less intimidating.

These particular cuffs range in size from a fairly small 6 ¼” to 12” (the leather does not cover about 1 ½” of skin), so these ankle cuffs could very easily be used for both ankles and wrists. The metal O-ring is very sturdily attached to a triangle shaped ring which is looped under the leather. The cuffs have a total of 10 metal grommets, so the person restrained isn’t going to be breaking these and getting out any time soon.

Wearing them is really comfortable. They are 2” in width, so they are wide enough to not leave any marks on the skin, even with heavy pulling. The inside of the cuff is lined with suede, so the skin can get a little hot with extended wear, but nothing out of the ordinary. The buckles slide easily and can actually be placed on without assistance. Whenever a person is being restrained, safety should always be considered. Be sure a safe word is chosen and that the restrained party could easily be released if need be.
