The rose flogger is a gorgeous piece – a must for any spanker's collection. This piece is a cat-o-nine tails – except with a wonderful twist – 9 budding roses instead of normal cat-tails. A bit off the beaten path (no pun intended), this piece would hang on my wall as decoration (except for the pesky roommate issue).

The roses, when used properly, can give the receiver quite a bit of sting. The one problem I've found is the lack of control I have over the flogger. The roses are about 2 to 2 1/2 feet away from the handle, which leaves much control to be desired. However, I'm not complaining. This piece is exactly how I had it pictured in my mind.

I've only used paddles (or my hand) in the past to deliver spankings. To give me more control over my flogging, I gripped the 2 1/2 feet of cord in the middle and spanked my partner with that.

Spanking with a flogger is an entirely different experience than spanking with a paddle or your hand. I am used to having a large amount of control over where my toy hits my partner's bottom. With this flogger, I felt a lack of control in where the toy went. My partner said that she wished the flogging stung more – but I suppose this is personal preference to pain. This being my first introduction to flogging, I have a lot to learn! This is an art – and more difficult than it appears. I look forward to perfecting this art form.

Since the toy is leather, I would recommend cleaning it with leather wipes after each use (or every other use, depending on how often the toy is being used).

I was disappointed that the flogger did not come with any sort of case. I guess I'll be picking up a case either through EdenFantasys or a simple zipper style bag for now. I have heard horror stories about people not being able to get their toy cases open due to defects with locks, so I think I'll steer clear of those for now.
