Delve Into Darkness

A great blindfold that is soft, simple, well-made, functional, and perfect for many BDSM fantasies. An inexpensive and comfortable accessory that is great for play or sleep. I can’t say enough good things about this item!

Use

This simple, soft blindfold is a simple, easy, and comfortable blindfold great for a variety of light sensory play, or even as a sleep mask. Use it to enhance your experience and focus on the sensations of other toys and play... or to create some extra suspense, not knowing what your parter will do next... or in the context of a BDSM scene, to really ramp up the anticipation. Although thick enough to not let light through, it does allow some light in at the sides of the nose, and you can “peek” out... so, this would not be the best toy for total sensory deprivation. With the black version, I find it great even for naps to block out some sunlight and though, I haven’t used it as an all-night sleep mask, it is definitely comfortable enough to wear for an extended time.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

This blindfold has a very sleek, soft, and simple design, with an elastic around the head and an eye piece covered in soft faux fur. Although unrated on the Eden Safety Scale, I would expect this material to be relatively safe unless you have any major allergies. The faux fur is incredibly soft and velvety and adds to the comfort of this design. It is not itchy, scratchy, or otherwise uncomfortable against my skin. It’s light-weight, yet well made and does not feel cheap. For me, it is a great fit and form-fitting, though I imagine it could be a little tight on some people.

Performance

Since this blindfold was so cheap, I had really low expectations. I thought it would be scratchy, too tight, and downright uncomfortable. But, I was seriously surprised at the quality! Although it is light-weight and simple, this blindfold is perfect for any standard use. Unless you’re being super rough and pulling at the elastic (which I wouldn’t recommend) this blindfold will hold up wear after wear. It lets in a little light at the sides of my nose, but generally covers my eyes well enough for light sight-deprivation play or even as a sleep mask. If you’re looking for total sensory deprivation, this isn’t the mask for you, since you can cheat... but if you have your eyes closed, aren’t trying to cheat, or in a low lit room, you can’t notice the difference. It’s very soft, stays in place, and is a perfect fit for me during light play (I haven’t tried sleeping in it, but it may be a little looser then.) I find this blindfold to be incredibly comfortable. The stitching and elastic are soft, with no metal, buckles, ties, velcro, or anything else that can hurt or get caught in your hair.
    • Comfortable during use
    • Easy to put on / use
    • Holds up to use well

Care and Maintenance

Unless you’re playing dirty, blindfolds will generally stay very clean, considering it makes contact with your skin rather than inside your body. If it does get dirty, you can use a clean, damp cloth to rub it down, with gentle anti-bacteria soap on any “problem spots”. I would not recommend washing or submerging in water, as it could ruin the fabric and elastic, especially with heat in the washer or dryer.
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The initial packaging is a simple cardboard box with a couple on the front and although possible to use for storage, it is likely unnecessary and too bulky to use. I keep my blindfold tucked away in my toy dresser, right next to my handcuffs and tethers. It’s small, lightweight, and bendable, making it a breeze to store and travel with anywhere.

Follow-up commentary
This blindfold has held up to some tough wear, and has proven to be perfect for almost any occasion. I still love how soft it is, and that it hasn't gotten flimsy throughout the time I've had it. I wish it was still for sale here, because it's really a perfect blindfold!

It does look like it would be itchy, glad it's not. Too bad it can't go into the washing machine.
Thanks for the review. This is the closest smiley I could find with eyes covered. In this case partially covered.

Hehe!!! Glad you liked the review - thank you!! It was actually surprisingly soft and well made - definitely better quality than many of the blindfolds that come free in sets. It's a shame its discontinued - it was perfect!
