Doing It Doggin Style
The Doggin Bat has a place in any toy box. With its longer, narrower head than a riding crop, it can be used to lightly stroke, caress or tease the skin, or with a flick of the wrist, it can deal a serious smack. We are fairly new to the site and this is our first toy review, so we hope this is informative and meets the high standards of the community.
The item that we chose for our first review is The Doggin Bat by Spartacus. We chose this item because we do enjoy some "spanky" playtime. We have purchased Spartacus products in the past and we’ve always found them to be high quality and well designed.
The Doggin Bat definitely lived up to our expectations. It is a very well-made and durable spanking toy. The head, measuring about 7" in length and 1 1/2" at its widest point, is made from two pieces of heavy leather sewn together to form a thick, durable slapper. The two pieces are split at the end so that it makes a pleasing slapping noise when it connects with the skin. Sometimes this POP sounds much more imposing than it really is. The shaft is flexible and bends slightly, giving it a nice springy feel. The handle, which could be bigger, only measures 1/2" in diameter. It is textured, making it easy to grip while delivering controlled slaps. The metal tips on the handle give it a classy and elegant appearance. The overall length is 24". The leather can be wiped with a damp cloth, using a mild soap if needed.
Beginners and playful couples may choose to use The Doggin Bat to stroke and tease their partner's sensitive flesh. Light blows can be delivered to those who are apprehensive about pain. But don't be fooled by the elegant feel of this toy; it can and does deliver a powerful punch. Those who prefer a bit more intensity will also be satisfied. Depending on how the blows are delivered, it can be a soft tease or a stinging slap, leaving a crimson glow on tender flesh. Even hard-core BDSM folks may find that The Doggin Bat has a place in their arsenal. It all depends on how it is wielded.

Experience
I typically enjoy spanking time more than my wife. However, as part of our rigorous review process, she was willing to take one for the team. When I teasingly spanked her with it, she responded very positively, wiggling and shaking her ass at me, begging for more! She normally prefers spanky time to be on the softer side so I tried not to get too carried away. After I had nicely reddened her buttocks and got her all heated up, she rolled over onto her back and insisted that I lightly tap her mound with the Doggin Bat. Note: I said lightly tap, we are not trying to bruise the girly goods! We have found that tapping her here with light, fast strokes from a riding crop sends reverberations to her core and often brings her to a powerful climax. It's like using a turbo-charged percussion vibrator. With its larger surface area, the Doggin Bat proved up to the challenge. I'm glad to report that she was very pleased with its mound pounding abilities.
Up to this point, we had successfully used it to tease and please her. But now, it was time to test the Doggin Bat's pain inducing powers. Unfortunately, this is my signal to step up to the plate. My wife took the reins and turned the tables on me. Let's just say that this toy definitely has some bite to it. Now, I found myself begging for more! I was quite surprised at the intensity delivered with the Doggin Bat. Owww, wow,wow!
The Doggin Bat is capable of playing naughty or nice. It is a great addition to our toy box. We are definitely looking forward to many more adventures with our Spartacus Doggin Bat!!

I am happy to report the Doggin Bat has held up quite well. In fact it still looks every bit as nice as when we first received it.
So, why does it still look so good? Are we not using it enough or what?
Well, actually, we are fortunate to be able to keep it stored laying flat in a locked drawer reserved for similar toys, so I am sure this contributes to it still looking as good as new. Second, we only use it for mild to medium play. Third, it is simply a well made, high quality product.
The leather head has started to show only the slightest creases where it flexes upon impact. The metal tips on the handle are still shiny and elegant. I have gotten used to the thinness of the textured handle, but now the texture feels too smooth, almost slick. I personally would have preferred a thicker, grippier handle. But overall I cannot complain. We are very pleased with the Spartacus Doggin Bat. I expect that it will serve our needs for a long, long time.

I'm not really sure how to answer that, but I'll take a shot at it.
The Doggin' Bat is not a typical crop. It kinda fits in somewhere between a true crop and a heavier slapper/paddle. It is definitely heavier than the other "crops" that I own. The handle is thinner, but it does feel more weighty than the molded rubber handles on the others. The shaft is thicker than the lightweight, tapered shafts on my equestrian crops . The leather head is also a bit thicker and has a considerably larger surface area than my other crops. So, in comparison, the Doggin' Bat is heavier and has a more substantial feel, but it's not really too heavy at all. It feels right.
