In spite of the description on the site (leather), the handle of my whip is rubber. Not really a complaint, as it is comfortable and has no odor.

The whip itself is woven tightly and attractively in a material that carries a slight sheen. The knot at the end is followed by an irresistible firm little tongue that ends in a soft fringe. It will take a lot for it to unravel, and as it does unravel, this soft fringe (perfect for teasing and sensation play) will only become more effective, without impairing the effectiveness of the main body of the whip.

This whip stirred my latent inner domme like nothing else. There is little quite so satisfying and, frankly, addictive, as the sound it makes as it whips through the air and bounces back. It lends the versatility of soft teasing, tracing sensitive areas with the tip, tickling them with the fringe, sudden, stinging strikes with the body of the whip.

While it can certainly cause effective pain and even leave a few marks, it is unlikely that an inexperienced domme would cause serious harm with this.
