D ring leather slapper - flogging toy by Sportsheets - review by Lil

The D-ring leather slapper is made of black leather and has 8 grommets in the handle of it holding the two leather strips closely together. It's 10" long which is a bit longer than I imagined from the picture, but that's great. I thought it might be too short to get a good hand hold but the size is perfect. The material is thick and seems stable and long-lasting. The grommets seem well attached too. I wouldn't imagine them loosening up or breaking anytime soon.

I wanted to try this because I'm not into serious pain play, but I like intensity of being slapped and thought this would be an ideal aide. So far I've really enjoyed it because it's not too painful and it doesn't leave marks. I prefer to keep my intimate life discreet, so not showing marks or bruises is great for me. The slapper feels similar to the pressure of a hand. It's hard and blunt pain, but very mild and not a long-lasting sensation, at least to me. It makes a sharp, loud sound on impact. My favorite thing about this piece is that the handle is long enough that you can move your hand up and down on it to give a different impact. If you hold it closer to the end, it produces a gentler slap and is barely felt, while choking up on the handle and using less of it provides a more intense feeling because the leather straps are being held together tightly and more force can be applied. Also, the feeling can vary depending on how much force the person using it applies. It can be used very gently or roughly depending on individual desires.

The slapper can be cleaned with a damp cloth and mild soap if necessary. However, it is leather and preferably should be kept dry as much as possible. I haven't had any cleaning issues with it yet, but I imagine that it would stay in good condition for some time if just lightly wiped down when needed and not exposed to much water.

The only part of this item I haven't used fully is the D-ring. It's mysterious to me. Why exactly do I need it? I've come up with some of possibilities such as: to attach to your key ring, hang on a nail by your bed, and of course to flip the toy around and use the metal part as the slapper. I've tried all of them, and I think it's best used by your bed for easy access. I tried flipping it around but only lightly. It does hurt more of course, and I don't think I'd want to use it for that seriously. You could probably form welts and bruises easily with that side, and that's not exactly what I'm looking for. Otherwise the D-ring produces a nice aesthetic quality, mirroring the shiny grommets coupled with the black leather for a nice bondage/dom overall look, which is both exciting but not intimidating for beginners or people not looking for full pain experiences.
