Lacy pearl wrist cuffs by Cal Exotics - review by Breas

The Lacy Pearl Wrist Cuffs by Cal Exotics arrived in a rectangular cardboard box. The front of the packaging states the company name, product name, and has a photo of a model wearing the cuffs. The back of the packaging states a few product features, company contact information, company website, material composition, and has a photo of the cuffs. The box works well for storage, though it is much larger then the cuffs themselves. The box is not discreet as it has a naked woman on the front of the packaging. The packaging can be recycled.



Inside of the box, the cuffs are wrapped in plastic. The material composition is as follows: the lace, ribbon, and Velcro are polyester, the pearls are 60% ABS and 40% PS, the elastic is 35% rubber and 65% polyester, and lastly, the string is nylon. The cuffs have some stretch to them because they are elastic, and the cuffs have Velcro closures to adjust to fit. The strand of pearls is not stretchy.

The cuffs are terribly cute. I loved the look of them when I had seen the stock photo on the product page. The pearls, lace trim, and bows are so very feminine and pretty. Each cuff has a bow at the centre, and beneath the bow is where the strand of pearls attaches. There is lace trim along the top and bottom of the cuff. The cuff is really just elastic band and Velcro. The Velcro piece is 4 ¼ inches in length and with the elastic band; the cuffs should fit most wrist sizes.



My wrist circumference is 6 inches and I didn’t have any problem with the cuffs fitting me. When I wear the cuffs comfortably, there is about 2 ¾ inches of left over Velcro hanging from the side of the cuff. If you have the same size or smaller wrists then me, you may want to cut off some of the extra Velcro that hangs from the cuff when you’re wearing them.

The strand of pearls seems to be attached to the cuffs fairly well. The pearls are on a clear, thin cord. If you’ve ever looked at the dollar store in the jewellery making section, you’ll know which cord I’m talking about. The cord really isn’t the most durable and there is only one strand holding the pearls on. I assumed that the cuffs would be for light play only when I had seen them in the stock photo though I was hoping I was wrong… but I was right.

While wearing the cuffs, I did a bit of light tugging and the pearls did not break. I wouldn’t recommend anything more than a light tug because the strand of pearls will definitely break on you. These cuffs are not for moderate to rough play unless you only plan on using them one-time (because you’ll break them).

These cuffs are great for very light restraint, photo shoots, or costume parties. I just adore the way the cuffs look. This may sound silly but while wearing these cuffs, I feel elegant! The quality of the cuffs is good, though there were two loose strands when I received them (I cut them off though). For $16.99, I’m happy with them.

The cuffs were comfortable to wear and the lace trim on the cuffs is not the scratchy, rough lace that most people can’t stand (myself included). There were no included care instructions for the cuffs but I would recommend gently hand washing the cuffs and hanging them to dry.

Overall, I’m happy with these cuffs. They are inexpensive and so very pretty! If my partner and I are going to engage in rough play, I’ll just wear a pair of my more durable cuffs. I wouldn’t recommend these cuffs to those looking for a pair that will withstand rough play, but I would recommend these cuffs to those who are looking for a costume party accessory, a cute pair of cuffs for very light restraint, or for those looking for a pretty accessory for a photo shoot. I received these cuffs as a review assignment but if I hadn’t, I would purchase them and love them just the same.

I still really like the Lacy Pearl Wrist Cuffs. I've worn them in the bedroom a few times but only when I know we're not going to need a pair of cuffs for anything more than light restraint. I think they're pretty, they've held up well, and luckily, the pearl strand has not broken yet.
