For the price you can't beat the sensual quality of the marabou feather Pom Pom. Though it is ridiculously delicate and requires careful handling it can withstand the occasional tussling with a cat or baby! It is a lovely tool for the sensual sadist in us all.Published: November 9, 2010

I have lusted over this toy almost since the first order I placed at EF but something always came up that was shinier or more drool worthy. I am kicking myself for being a fool!
The Pom Pom by Bijoux Indiscrets is the loveliest little feather tickler I have seen yet, and I own quite a few! It is a tiny thing measuring 7.5 inches from the base of the wooden handle to the tip of the soft marabou.
Just a bit of interesting trivia about marabou: The marabou is any of three large storks of the genus Leptoptilus, of Africa or the East Indies, having soft, downy feathers under the wings and tail that are used for making a fur-like trimming for women's hats and garments.
This little tickler is held together by a shiny black wooden bead into which the several marabou feathers are held very securely. They are secured with glue and just a very small amount is present outside the bead. It isn't enough to mar the lovely look of the toy. There is nothing harsh or prickly about this little gem it is all soft and feathery. It is also very sturdy and can handle being played with by a 1 year old and a cat! I don't recommend letting your child or cat play with this toy though because marabou is fairly adversely affected by liquids. The feathers can become shriveled and harsh as it dries and also when dried with heat. This is a toy that should be carefully stored when not in use, the package it arrives in is a wonderful place! The package is a triangular box which is all black and has a lovely black shiny design on it that is subtle and features the marabou storks along with hearts and flowers. A simple red sticker with the information about the Pom Pom is the only color on this classy and elegant package.
A simple cold water rinse followed by air drying with a hair dryer on no-heat or cold air setting can restore the lovely soft texture of the feathers, it could also ruin the toy beyond repair. For the price, however, it's worth buying two if you are hard on your toys!

Of all the ticklers we own this one is Sigel's favorite because it is so soft and luxurious. There are no harsh spines or feather tips to mar the sensation of it running up and down your sides! This toy is amazing after a session of light flogging to 'wake up' the nerves, he was gasping with pleasure in no time! It has a short handle to it requires you to be up close and very personal with your 'victim'. I found it to be very exotic feeling to pair the soft brush of the marabou with hot breath.

This little unassuming pompom have become a staple of our sensuous play. It is so soft and silky that it dosn't leave you squirming with that tickly feeling. It has held up to being tossed on the floor and played with by the cat. Other than a cute pair of tooth marks (my son's) on the wooden handle it still looks brand new.
It doesn't show any matting of the feathers even though it did come in contact with massage oil, briefly.
I recommend this to all the sensual sadists out there who are looking for a simple product that can be replaced easily but probably won't need to be.

Feather Ticklers?

I noticed that there is only one feather tickler item that is smaller and without the wands/handles. Is there any more of those that I am not seeing? I would LOVE for EF to carry more of those for the powders and general "foreplay" type situations. That, and I really like the ones that come with the Honey Dusts, but I would like to see them a little larger than that one. But i LOVE the material of it!
