This is a fun whip, unless you're looking for something more hardcore. I would definitely recommend it to beginners. However, it will also suit advanced users looking for something with less sting. The nice thing about this whip is that it can be used all over the body, and it isn't limited to whipping. It feels quite nice when dragged down the body, it's similar to someone running their fingertips over your skin. It can also be used to whip the more delicate areas, such as breasts, where you might not want to use something that has a lot of force.

The black rubber material on this is very similar to a Koosh ball. The strands are skinny and stretchy, and there are a ton of them. They do get tangled easily, but can be combed out with your fingers -- they worked just fine when they're tangled. I personally didn't care for the animal print on the handle. It is a piece of faux fur that moves around and prevents a good grip, however, it can be easily removed without affecting the functionality of the whip. As expected from rubber toys, this doesn't smell very good, but its odor isn't overwhelming like some of the others. I think this is well made, but not of excellent quality. It will probably last a good amount of time, but not forever. At 22 inches long, it sometimes seemed a bit too long. When being used as a whip, the strands can sometimes wrap around and hit in the wrong place; that can be a positive or a negative for different people (I personally saw it as a negative).

I'd say this whip is just what I expected it to be. It isn't going to leave you howling, but that isn't always the goal of using a whip. When used by the right person with a skillful hand, this whip can still deliver a nice sting. I was pleased to discover that it worked nicely as a teasing toy -- rather like a feather tickler. I also find it pleasurable to use all over the body, especially on the breasts.

I found that I was able to tie the rubber strands into a loose knot to shorten the whip's length. Having the knot is a big plus, it will create stronger impact compared to the blows delivered by the loose falls.
