For the Love of Impression!

Honestly, if you are a beginner invest in the Impressions crop. It will serve as a good starting point for you and your partner, as well as serve as a building block for future more intense play. It is a great learning tool and device for sensation play, and learning more about your partner in a bit more intimate fashion.

Use

The Impressions Crop is definitely for the beginner as it is light weight, and doesn't cause too much of a sting. Being a masochist, I find that the pain factor of the crop is minimal and it is an excellent warm up device. Because of the fact that it is light weight, using the crop during foreplay is recommended as it does not leave too many marks and easily works your partner into a bit harder, more intense play. For the more advanced users, this crop may not be sufficient to the needs of your partner if he or she is into harsher strikes, and more of a bite. While this crop can sting and cause a slight bite, it is nothing compared to that of a whip or heavier crop.

Design / Craftsmanship / Size / Material / Features

The Impressions crop, while designed nicely with a lovely heart shape cut into the faux leather head, is not made for durability. If you intend to only use this crop for foreplay and light cropping you should be able to get more use out of it than those who enjoy a bit harder play.

The faux leather is soft enough to not leave too much of a bite, but harsh enough to keep you on the edge and begging for more. The rod of the crop is rigid and leaves little room for bending, so that it can be used as well. The rod is stiff enough that it can be used as a cane to heighten sensation during play.

The Impressions crop is what I refer to as the Goldilocks size. It's not too small, it's not too big, it's just right. It's an average length and does not require much movement for impact. A simple flick of the wrist and your partner will be wincing and writhing on the bed, begging for more!

Performance

Being a masochist, I endure and process quite a bit of pain at one time. The Impressions crop, for me, is just a tease. I was mildly disappointed that the crop did not bite as much as I expected it to, especially with the heart cut into the faux leather. I did, however, find that the crop is versatile in that the rod can be used for a vicious cane.

More often than not, when I am exposed to the Impressions crop, my partner alternates between striking me with the head of the crop, and with the rod to satiate my need for a bit more pain. The Impressions crop definitely proved to be multi-use for me and my partner

Care and Maintenance

Caring for the crop is easy. After use, clean the head and rod with anti bacterial wipes to prevent residue from forming, as well as wash away any body fluids that may be on it. Store the crop in a cool, dry place after it has been cleaned and had time to dry. If you expose it to the heat for too long the leather may begin to crack a slight bit. It is easy to store in a duffel bag, under the bed, or even on the top shelf of your closet. It's not bulky or cumbersome and does not take up much space at all.

Experience

Our first experience with the crop was not a satisfying one at all. We were a bit disappointed with how flimsy it was and that it does not bite me the way that I would like it. We gave it another try, and after using it for a warm up, we found that it is indeed quite a wonderful toy for light play. We thoroughly enjoy using it and plan to use it until we wear it out, which we are working on at this point in time.
Follow-up commentary
While the Impressions crop is great for the beginner, it does nothing for me anymore. From the amount of use, I find that it does not sting as much or leave me waiting for more. Then again, my pain tolerance is a lot higher than most people's. I still recommend this for the beginner's toy bag and definitely for fun in the bedroom!

Kinky Kitty - Any type of flogging device can wield a sting if used properly, so if you don't want that then I'd stay away from any kind of BDSM items Winking

Great review also stores that sell farm products have riding crops to but not for 10 or anywhere as cute. Everytime I go in the store here my daughter makes the mistake of following me instead of a grandparent, I pop her once with it everytime LOL I think she's going to be just like me lol.

      In my and my partners expirience it is better to start our with a crop. They are easier to control the amount of pain and area it is meant for. We actually started with the Impressions crop, and are thinking about moving up to a tickler/ flogger combo, to get more of the feel for how your body reacts to being smacked. Also maybe try other things like ticklers, they can be used with te impressions crop to lightly pass over where you were hit to add new sensations. ;)

      Depends on what you are going for. Floggers tend to be more thuddy depending on several factors like cut, width, material, etc, and crops more stingy. They are very different sensations and I would say a better comparison would be Crops vs Canes, in which Crops would be less evil but still pack a punch. Floggers are generally a bit more work to get down right but its really hard to mess up a Crop, just make sure you hit the meaty parts of their butt and thighs.
      Personally for me, I started with floggers because I didn't feel like inflicting a lot of pain, but I feel that both are useful toys in my bag.
