Y style with clamp - clamps by Spartacus - review by Vaccinium

We've had these clamps for almost two years now, and they've served us well. I selected these clamps over other similar ones primarily because of the third clamp, but we've honestly used it very little. Clearly designed to be used on the clitoris, we've had a heck of a time actually getting the third clamp to tighten on it. No doubt the inherent moisture in the area of the clitoris had something to do with it, as might be the particulars of my wife's clitoral morphology, but we've yet to get it to stay on for more than a few seconds. There are, of course, other areas you can clamp with the third clamp (e.g., a nose ring, tongue, lip, labium, etc.), but it's not lived up to our expectations with respect to clamping the clitoris (although, as stated, that may or may not be the fault of the clamp itself).

As nipple clamps, they work far better. We chose the tweezer style over other styles because it is adjustable and they grip the nipple on more of its surface than vise-like clamps. Adjustment of the clamp pressure is done via a ring that is pushed up toward the rubber tips. This ring can effectively clamp the nipple as hard as most people would desire, but it can be difficult to get the tension just right without over tightening. This is important on the nipples but of paramount importance on the clitoris. It definitely takes a practiced hand to learn to do it right. Unquestionably, the clamps are easier to get on and tighten on a woman's nipples compared to a man's because of the natural size difference, but I've had them on my nipples several times. In general, they need to sit closer to the body on a man compared to a woman to become tight, but they perform their function well, regardless. They do slip off both of us occasionally, but that's more a function of how hard the clamps are tightened and where the rubber tips are placed than it is the design of the clamps. As with anything else, it takes some practice to find how the clamps fit best on you or your partner.

The rubber tips effectively grasp the nipple and make it so the metal does not cut into your skin. That said, the tips can come off, and given their size, could be lost pretty easily. The chain connecting all three clamps is a narrow, chrome-plated chain. It serves its purpose, has never broken, and shows no sign of wear yet.

Although we use this primarily in the house, it could potentially be used outside the home. The more showy single clamped styles would undoubtedly be better for this purpose, but the more industrial look of these clamps might suit the situation better depending on the wearer. This is definitely not a set of clamps that is meant for the advanced BDSM practitioner, either in style or design, but for the beginner or intermediate BDSM practitioner, they might find them to be just right.
