When I saw that this collar had not yet been reviewed, I was pleasantly surprised. I only have one other collar, so I was rather excited to get such a pretty collar in the mail. My other collar is a Black and Blue collar, which is very well made and ought to last me for years, but lacks some of the feminine touches that make this one special.

I was a little surprised upon opening the box to discover that the collar didn't come in any kind of a package. The box simply contained the packing slip and a collar with a small tag that was easily detached. The collar is tinged with more green than the picture had led me to expect, but it's a very pretty color and I like how it looks on me.

I was a little disappointed that the heart attached to the collar has no weight to it; I was hoping for something solid, rather than a hollow metal piece. On the other hand, it makes a delightful jingling sound when you move around - more like a cat collar than a dog collar if you ask me.

My biggest problem with the collar really lies in the quality of the base material. The studs are very securely fastened, the buckle and the O ring have a nice weight to them, and everything else looks like quality work. The leather, on the other hand, doesn't feel like any kind of leather at all. It feels like some kind of plastic-y pseudo-scale material, like something one might make an "alligator skin" bag out of. It just doesn't feel classy at all, and it's not very soft or smooth. I'd hate to leave it over sensitive skin, like the skin around the neck, for long periods of time.

All in all this is a very cute collar that I would totally recommend for a night out, on the town, if the price range was a little lower. It is by no means a collar for everyday or extended wear. But if you're looking for something cute and girly without overdoing the pink, it's a nice little piece. I'd just wait to pick it up when it's on sale.

I've worn this collar a couple times since posting the original review, and my conclusion remains the same: the quality just does not live up to the price. It's really cute, and I want to like it a lot, but it's just not comfortable. I'd save my money and pick up something nicer with it.
