Use

Designed to make it simple to enjoy bondage with a partner, these bondage cuffs feature a single bondage point (a D-ring) to use for binding your partner to keep them exactly how you'd like them. The high-quality leather and suede feels more serious than felt beginner kits which is perfect for those who are looking to up the believability of their scenes.

The cuffs offer a decent range of sizing, but the sizes don't go up too high. If you have a particularly large and above-average wrist, there may be some issues buckling these cuffs onto your wrists. For most people, however, the range of sizing will be more-than-adequate.

Because of the cuffs' lack of locking features or extra D-rings as bondage points, people with hardcore bondage plans in mind might want to see out something a little more advanced. These do not distribute weight, so they should not be used for any weight-bearing binds or any suspension. However, for most purposes, these bondage cuffs will be fine.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

The Purple Hand Cuffs have a standard bondage design: two cuffs, made from leather and suede, that wrap around the wrists and feature a standard buckle-like fastener as well as a single metal D-ring to function as a bondage point. The D-rings and buckle are held together with a couple rivets to help increase durability.

These cuffs were not designed to fit onto ankles; they have a pretty short wrist length which would make them unsuitable for most ankles unless the wearer has very slender ankles to begin with. The cuffs themselves are about 10" in length with a length of 13" if you're including the fastening band that extends past the "cuff" itself. If the wearer has larger wrists, the cuffs will still fasten, but there will be parts on the wrist where the "cuff" portion doesn't cover, but the slender fastening band will still keep the cuffs on the wrists.

Both sides of the cuffs are made of a deep, sensual purple. The interior material is made from suede while the exterior is a leather material. The black edging is made from a shiny, softened leather. The cuffs have a very slight plushy feeling to them, but they're not overly padded. The padding, however, does make it a bit hard to fasten them for the first couple uses. As the cuffs become more worn, they'll become easier to fasten. Storing the cuffs fastened (so they're circular) will help wear the leather to make it easier to fasten during playtimes.

The cuffs have a slight leather smell to them straight out of the packaging. The smell isn't strong, and it will dissipate rather quickly after taking the cuffs out of the plastic.

Performance

If you plan to use these wrist cuffs for any type of intense bondage, you should be set. The cuffs are durably constructed, and the D-rings are reinforced by multiple layers of rivets. The cuffs offer minimal (but still some) padding on the wrists for heavy struggling, and the finished leather edges help prevent uncomfortable rubbing from the material. The interior suede makes these cuffs particularly comfortable for long-term wear.

These bondage cuffs do not come with any particular bondage attachment methods. Each cuff includes a D-ring that allows you to use your own bondage attachment set-ups. Use rope, locks, double-ended clips, or any other bondage method that you'd like. Anything can slide onto the D-ring can function as a way to take advantage of the bondage capabilities of these cuffs.

Your first couple uses with these cuffs may require more effort than subsequent uses. The cuffs' leather and suede material is a bit stiff, and it becomes a two-handed process to get these snugly onto another person's wrist. Over time, I'm assuming this will become softened and easier to fasten, but between the new material and the padding, it is a bit tough at first.

Depending on the size of the wrists of the person wearing the cuffs, the cuffs may not "cover" the entire wrist. Since the fastening strap extends past the actual cuff length, there could be uncovered skin while still being fastenable. This is more of a cosmetic issue than anything else. If the bare skin won't bother you, then this design shouldn't be a concern.

The leather and suede material will not do well in damp or wet environments and may be hard to clean from bodily fluids. Stick to using these cuffs for standard bondage positions.

Care and Maintenance

Taking care of these cuffs isn't hard. As they aren't sterilizable, you should take care to avoid getting these cuffs near any sort of bodily fluids. If so, consider them fluid-bonded to the person that you've used them with for any time in the near future. For regular cleaning, however, leather doesn't like harsh soaps. Consider a special leather cleaner or just clean the cuffs with warm water and a slightly damp washcloth. Allow the cuffs to fully dry before placing them away in storage.

For initial storage, you may want to curl and buckle the cuffs and store them like that temporarily. This will help soften up the leather a bit as they're difficult and stiff when you first get them. After you've softened the leather, it's recommended to store your cuffs lying flat.

Leather and suede aren't difficult to care for, but they will require some thought to keep them in fantastic shape.

Packaging

The Purple Hand Cuffs come in pretty basic packaging. You'll find your cuffs in a plastic, unlabeled bag. It keeps the cuffs together during shipping, but it's a see-through bag and extremely flimsy, so it's only designed for shipping purposes.
