This product is best used for role-playing situations rather than real bondage work. It is definitely a beginner's model and is incredibly easy to escape from, so again, it is more playful make believe than actual discipline. They are very easy to use, and because they are so soft, they won’t hurt anyone involved if used at all properly. They are very safe and friendly to users who are new to the bondage scene and who just want the actual gear. Other than the novelty factor of owning cuffs, though, I would just recommend using scarves; they are cheaper and more discreet. If you want something to tie down a partner with and really hold them against their will, then look for something that isn’t held together with Velcro.

The straps are majorly adjustable, so they will fit any conceivable user for ankle or wrist restraints and might, in fact, work better for ankles as the other hand isn’t right there to release them. They come clipped together, but they can be separated if you want to hook the arm to some other restraint device, which would also work better than leaving them attached. Because they are so loose and allow for so much movement between the hands, it would be best to separate the hands if you want any productive bondage from these cuffs.

These cuffs are made of nylon and faux fur, which actually just felt as though it has been trimmed so that it won’t fray. They do not look extremely well made, overall. The felt is the only thing touching your wrists, so in that way it is very comfortable. The Velcro that is attached to the cuffs on the outside is long enough to accommodate ankle restraints, but if you have small wrists (mine are average for a woman), it is hard to actually get them tight enough to work. The felt is forced to overlap the Velcro, so it cannot snap shut with enough strip, and they can tear/pop open easily. So if you have small wrists and plan to use these for arm restraints, look elsewhere. If you are looking for ankle work or have average-to-large wrists, you are golden.

The back of the felt that is not covered with Velcro is lined with nylon, and that gives these cuffs their strength. The nylon attaches a key chain ring to each side, and one has a rotating clip on it to hook onto the other ring. In this way, they are quick to release if they need be and are easy to detach, and they work with the arms or legs separately. If you can get enough of the Velcro to attach, then they are great at weight bearing and will work for light suspension play. But if there is any doubt that they are not attached well enough or that they are not tight enough, I would not recommend it as they are only held together with Velcro and felt. The color I had (red) was very basic, and the other colors are pretty standard. They have no smell or unpleasant dying of the skin. I experienced no rash or irritation after using them.

This product did what I needed it to in a role-playing setting and for ankle restraints. But for the wrists, they were pretty useless. I don’t have my own dungeon and have nowhere to attach loose cuffs to separate the arms, so overall, they are pretty useless when separated. As a unit, they don’t work well for arms if you are a disobedient sub because you can easily release yourself with the Velcro straps or with the clip. But the Velcro is sturdy and can take a lot of tugging or weight before they become weak. Just make sure they are tight before attempting anything, and I wouldn’t trust them with much.

They are very easy to use and adjust. There are no instructions necessary and no real way to mess it up. If you are looking for light bondage or role-playing toys, these work great. For substance, real weight-bearing cuffs, or serious bondage, these just don’t hold up. In my opinion, it works better to have cloth tied around my wrists and ankles; it gets tighter and can’t be removed so easily. But if you want anything for show or for just having separate cuffs, then this product works well for what they promise and are not that expensive for what they are.

There were no instructions for care and cleaning of these cuffs. But because they are Velcro, nylon, and felt as well as metal attachments, I would recommend just using a damp cloth and rubbing them clean if they need it. Storage should be easy as they fold down pretty flat. And they are not overtly obvious, so if you're careful, they might not have to be stored in hiding.

It came in a very obvious sleeve/box. It was very flimsy and obvious, but it's just cardboard, so it's easy to dispose of discreetly if that's a problem.

There is also a matching blindfold if you like the style and want some matching color and product, but it is sold separately.
