Had great reviews, but didn't 'fly' well for us.
Overall, I'm very displeased with this item. We could have bought something for half the price that would have worked better. It wasn't expensive, but it wasn't worth the money we did put into it because it lacked in the product we were hoping for. We were very excited to purchase this feather to add to our 'inventory.' We wanted a tickler that would heighten sexual response, especially while blindfolded. It seemed like a great idea to add this toy, as there's no noise issue with it, and we could use it very discreetly. When we received it, the feathers were much more lanky than in the image. It was almost stringy rather than plushy and soft. It wasn't attractive to look at, and I almost felt silly wanting to use it on my partner. We used it all over our bodies with and without a blindfold, and found that it worked okay, but wasn't what we were expecting. We were hoping that it would feel smoother on our skin, but it had a little bit of a roughness to it, and the odd lengths of the feathers made it less of a surprise when caressed against skin. That made it a disappointment, as there really isn't another good use for this toy.
Combined with a blindfold, the experience was better than without, because it added to the sense of not knowing where the feather was going, but the unevenness of the feather made the experience less exciting than we had hoped. The length of the base was pretty long, and made it difficult to use when near your partner. We ended up taking off the stopper, cutting the base to an easier length, and putting the stopper back on. It was much easier to use after making the end shorter.
You have to be especially careful with oils and lubes because it will gunk up in the feathers. There isn't really a good way of cleaning this feather tickler, so make sure that you keep it in a place where it won't be exposed to dust and dirt.

Would have preferred it to be softer, have more even feathers, and have a shorter handle.

I think you meant to say (I think) "...the experience was better with th blindfold..." The review was nice, and I agree with schwaltze about wanting some more info about how you used it and how it felt compares to your other ticklers. I would like this as a tease during foreplay on me or the Mrs. I am giving the editor a "poor" rating because I think the editor should have picked up on the wording and clarified it with the author of this review.
We buy feather ticklers at pet stores. They have toys that look like this and the goal is to play with your cat. However, they work famously as ticklers and sometimes they are only 2-3 dollars. It isn't a bad deal in all honesty and you can test them on your face of the back of your arm for sensation before you buy them.
oldman, I wrote that the experience was BETTER with the blindfold than WITHOUT, I said what I had intended to, but thanks. I guess I should have written that this was my first tickler and had nothing to compare it to. I'll work harder at making the reviews more favorable.
