Bell clit clamp - clamps by Spartacus - review by Lara

I'll preface this review by making one thing clear from the start. I've never before tried a clitoral clamp. I've never tried nipple clamps, either. The closest I've come is tentatively snapping a clothes pin on my nipple, only to take it off after milliseconds because I'm a big baby and don't like pain.

Needless to say, I approached Spartacus's Bell Clit Clamp with more trepidation than excitement. Perhaps that gave me all that much more room to be pleasantly surprised by my experience.

The Bell Clit Clamp, as its name would suggest, is a clitoral clamp designed to restrict blood flow to the clitoris. The rubber tips are attached to either side of the clitoris. A piece of metal slides up and down the tweezer-like clamps and adjusts the intensity of the pinch.

After wearing the clitoral clamp for a few moments, blood flow to the clitoris slows down noticeably. The area begins to lose sensation and becomes numb. Once the clamp is removed, blood flow resumes and the area becomes very sensitive. Both the numbness and sensitivity are feelings that have quite a bit of erotic potential.

The first thing that I noticed about the Bell Clit Clamp is that it didn't hurt in the slightest. After my failed experiments with clothes pins, I expected anything with a pinch to be unbearably painful. Nothing could be further from the truth. The adjustable ring that slides up and down the tongs of the clamp allows for a very broad range of pressure. You can take it easy and only apply enough pressure to keep the clamp in place. You can ramp things up a notch and tighten the clamps fully. The metal ring stays in place through it all.

The bell is a nice addition, and similar to the bells one finds at craft stores during the holiday season. It makes a pleasant, clearly audible ringing noise. It's slightly smaller the size of a quarter if the quarter were ball instead of a flat circle. It's noticeable, but not obtrusive.

One important note to the larger ladies among us - if your thighs rub together, you will not hear a ring-a-ding-ding while walking about. You may, however, hear that little jingle if you're on all fours and the bell is angled towards the floor while your partner penetrates you from behind. (hint hint)

Do keep in mind that this clamp does restrict blood flow and, therefore, should be used with caution. This is not a toy that should be used for long-term wear.

The Bell Clit Clamp isn't something that I would expect to last a lifetime, but it is a fun, relatively painless way to add something new to my sex life. It can double as a cock or nipple clamp. It's conducive to a whole range of games à la 'A Naughty Girl Who Lets Her Bell Ring Needs To Be Spanked'. (can you guess I just made that one up?) It's a nice piece of jewelry for a part of my body that could use some dressing up every so often.

Clean up is easy with soap and water. The metal is non-porous, but the rubber nubs on the end of the pincers are not. Use good judgment and common sense when you're thinking about sharing.
