Note: When I received my mouth gag, I found it was a bit different from the one pictured on the product page. The ball gag I received does not have a nylon mouth strap. The mouth gag I received has a leather mouth strap.

Spartacus removable ball gag is fully adjustable to suit your needs. The ball can be used on another head strap or you can use your favorite ball on this strap. In addition, Spartacus ensures that this will mouth gag will fit virtually everyone with 11 pre-punched holes.

The overall design is petite and comfortable. The hardware is not over sized and does not have a hard core bondage look. Also, the head gear and mouth strap are made from genuine cowhide. The straps are stamped Horween – USA. After a bit of investigation, I found that Horween is a renowned company for quality leathers. The leather is soft and subtle against your face. The outer side is finished and the inside is unfinished.

This mouth gag is made up from three leather straps, nickel free metal hardware, and a removable small silicone ball. The mouth strap has two snaps which allow the silicone ball to be removed. The mouth straps are attached to the head strap with rectangular ring. The leather straps are connected to the rectangular ring with 2 rivets. Also, the buckle is square with a rectangular ring to hold the extra strap.

The ball is made from skin safe silicone. It has no texture but does have a seam down the middle of the ball. The cut slot for the mouth strap is cut to the right of the center seam. Also, this ball is not hard. It can be bit into and has a little give. Although it can be bitten into, your teeth do not sink into it. In addition, the ball does not have a taste or smell.

Measurements:

Removable silicone ball – 1 ½ inch diameter.

Mouth Strap – 9 inches total. 2 inches between the two snaps. The strap that folds to the back for the snap is 2 ½ inches on each side. The extra edges of this strap tuck into the ball. Also, it is 3/4 of an inch wide.

Head Strap – the buckle side is 6 ½ inches long and the opposite side is 9 inches long. Also, it is ¾ of an inch wide.

Rectangular rings that attach the mouth strap to the head strap are 1 inch by ¾ of an inch.

The buckle is 1 inch by 7/8 of an inch.

Care:

Prevention is the key to caring for your leather goods. Leather should never be tossed into the floor where dirt and particles can get into the pores. If your leather should need cleaning, it is best cleaned with leather cleaner and a soft cloth.

To ensure that your leather straps do not mildew, it is best to thoroughly dry your mouth strap after each use.
Cleaning your silicone ball is simple. It can be washed with anti-bacterial soap and warm water, wiped with a 10 to 1 water and bleach mixture, or it can be boiled for ten minutes.

When caring for you hardware it is best to wipe it dry after each use. This will prevent the hardware from possibly rusting. As a preventive measure, cover the hardware with clean nail polish.

As with all leather gear, storage is a concern. Leather should never be stored in a damp and dark place. Storing your gear in this type of environment promotes the growth of mold or mildew. The best way to store you gear is in such a way that air can circulate around the leather. Also, you should avoid storing your leather plastic bags or in an area that is moist, such as the bathroom.

I have fallen in love with being able to bite down on a gag instead of making a lot of sounds during our playtime. It is a great way to keep out playtime quiet and discreet. We have tried a few mouth gags looking for that perfect one. Along our journey, we ordered this mouth gag and I feel in love.

This Spartacus mouth gag is perfect for me as a beginner since the ball is so small. The first time I put it into my mouth, it did not stretch my jaw at all. Still being a bit worried about the solid ball, I used our breathable ball gag ball on the straps and it fit perfectly.

After building my confidence with the breathable ball, I gave Spartacus’ small ball a try. It worked wonderfully. Since beginning our journey into using gags, I read several reviews about ball gags and several mentioned drooling as a side effect. This was concerning to me and I was very nervous the first time I used the solid ball. Fortunately, after using this gag several times, I have not encountered a single drop of drool.

Everything about this mouth gag is comfortable. The mouth strap is comfortable to wear and it does not cut into the corners of my mouth. The ball fits just right into my mouth and sits securely behind my teeth. Also it is perfect to bite down onto. My teeth do not sink into the ball and I don’t feel like I’m going to break the ball. In addition, the neck strap fits snug is soft against my face.

Over all, this a great mouth gag and I highly recommend it anyone who is interested in this type of product.

We really enjoy this mouth gag. For Hubby, it is a great piece. It looks manly and bold on his face. It has held up great to long play times and it stays in place perfectly.

I use the gag from time to time. When I use it, I tend to bit down into the ball. Thankfully, it does not have teeth marks in it or cracks.

Over all, it has held up well and is sure to have a long life in our toy box.
