I'll Let You Whip Me if I Misbehave

The Fresh Whip is stylish, and made for the long haul. The length allows you plenty of room for distant whipping and the plastic-y tassels allow for both gentle or intense play. A little force put behind the whip delivers a very satisfying sting. Unless you have strict preferences of a certain material or you only want something that produces extreme pain, this would likely be a worthy whip to add to a collection.

Use

(Excuse the lame Justin Timberlake lyric I used for my title. It's just that every time I use this whip or talk about it, that part of the song "I'm Bringing Sexy Back" comes into my head!")

The Fresh Tassel Whip is, in my opinion, a nice whip for beginners and an especially fantastic one for those with some experience. It can be very intense though, so it isn't a bad idea to use it with jeans on or some kind of buffer between a beginner's skin and the snap of these tassles, for the first few tries. However, I really can't say this is completely un-beginner friendly as I think it will be fine since it's easy to keep control of it enough for gentle play.

I believe you'll want to consider the materials you prefer in a whip and length when deciding on this, rather than beginner friendly or not. This whip can definitely be used for light, subtle whipping as well as hard, stinging whipping. As long as you like the material the Fresh Whip is made of, I think it's going to be a great whip for most people.

The Fresh Whip can be used both rough or gently, as I said. You can use it by running the tassels over your partner's skin for teasing, such as on sensitive spots or up and down the back. Or you can use it for whipping. I think both are nice, especially when you run the tassels over the skin, and then use it to whip because it seems that kind of wakes up the senses.

The whip is best used between a couple, unless you happen to enjoy whipping yourself.

Design / Craftsmanship / Size / Material / Features

The Fresh Whip weighs 0.2 pounds, so it's pretty lightweight and isn't heavy at all. The length is plenty long enough for any kind of whipping, even from a distance. There are 12 tassels total -- six of them are pink and the other six are a light blue color. The colors look great & I love that it fits my colorful personality & style more than the typical black ones. I'd say it's kind of a statement whip. It stands out from the others.

Design

The way the whip is made is neat & a bit unique to me. The handle is some sort of clear plastic in the shape of a square & it seems a little flexible as I'm able to somewhat bend the handle a little. You can see the clear handle a little in the photo below. The "gimp-like" material is wrapped around the plastic square. My photos probably do a better job of describing this.

As you can see, when you separate the tassels apart, you can see the handle a little bit. I've done a little tugging and pulling on the tassels as well as the pink ones wrapped on the handle and it appears to be plenty sturdy enough that it wouldn't just unravel or anything.

Material

I've taken quite a few photos in hopes of showing exactly what the Fresh Whip looks like & how it's made.
The strips are all made of polyethylene, except for the inner plastic square (handle) and the nickel-plated steel D-ring & metal chain attached to the whip.

Polyethylene rates a 7/10 on EF's safety scale. It's a non-toxic plastic that's water-resistant, contains no animal products, is durable and resistant to tear. This also makes the Fresh whip a fantastic alternative to the real leather ones, for those who like vegan-friendly products.

The material reminds me a lot of that gimp material (photo of gimp below), especially where the pink is wrapped on the handle. As a kid, I used to buy gimp in the craft section of Wal-Mart and wrap it around things like pencils, mascara tubes, etc.

(Source: www.fantageforum.com)

If you still haven't ever seen or used gimp, then another way to describe the material would be plastic-y strips. Almost silicone-looking. The material isn't very rubbery or stretchy.

The product page's photos had me expecting the whip to resemble leather, since most whips do and most "faux leather" somewhat resembles leather. There's nothing leathery about this & it doesn't feel or look like any faux leather I've seen before. It's very plasticy, and I was pleasantly surprised that the tassels and everything is a plastic-y material. I really like that about this whip, especially since it means it can be washed.

There isn't much of a smell to the whip, but since I tend to smell of everything, I noticed a faint plastic smell to the tassels. It's nothing that will be problematic for anybody, and it's so faint that washing it takes it away. It's just a smell of newness, really.

Craftmanship
This is absolutely a well-made whip. I can tell there won't be any problems with it falling apart or tassels falling out since it's all wrapped around the plastic handle rather than glued. I also see this being more of a long-term whip since it's going to hold up well, even with rough & frequent use and washing.

Size
From metal D-ring to very end of tassels is 30"
Handle alone is 5" long & 2" around (measured with measuring tape.)
The tassels themselves are around 24" long, but one is a little longer at 25" long.

The handle isn't wide, so I think it fits more comfortably in my small hand than it does my partner's. I don't think the handle's thin width will be something that actually causes an issue for most people, though. I do like the 5" length of the handle & I think maybe this makes up for the thinness & that helps for big hands. Plus, the way the strips are wrapped around the plastic handle allow for a better grip than if it were super smooth.

Handle, up-close:

At the end of the whip, there's a metal D-ring for hanging & it also comes with a chain attached to the D-ring attached to the chain is a little plastic clam-shell, but that's just part of the packaging, which could also be used to hang the whip, especially if the small D-ring doesn't allow it to hang on anything you own.

The Fresh Whip also comes in a shorter version (11"), which looks great, but I went with the 30" because I already have a short whip and prefer more length. You can always shorten it (by wrapping it around your hand), but you can't lengthen them. Plus, the 30" is only a few dollars higher, so it seems like a better deal for someone like me, who wanted length anyhow.

I'm very glad I went with the 30" because I feel like I wouldn't be able to do as much with the shorter version. With more length, you have a little variety, which I'll explain in "Ways I've Used It below" in the Performance section.

Performance

I would go so far as to say I love this whip. Not only because the colors, but because the quality and the material is something I'm very fond of. I enjoy rubber whips, but I really love the sensation this one provides.

I wouldn't say the Fresh Whip is extremely intense or that it would be a favorite for someone who wants to draw blood or something along those extreme lines. It is, however, pretty perfect for anything else. The types of sensations whips bring vary so much from person to person and people have different preferences. Some like a whip that takes little effort to sting and some like a whip that can be both gentle and intense. I'm the latter & this suits me well because to actually cause damage or injury, you would have to put force behind this whip. You would have to be intentionally trying in order to cause actual pain.

However, it does not take much to leave the skin red and swollen, or to give a real sting. I like that because I don't want to accidentally hurt my partner & I don't want for him to accidentally hurt me and when a whip causes pain from even gentle-ish force, it's easier for accidental pain to happen. So I like that this one is easy to control.

I would say the Fresh Whip is stingy and not so much thuddy. If you slap with little force, it's somewhat thuddy, if the tassels gentle fall onto the person's skin. But slinging it with little force is enough for a decent sting, one that isn't likely to cause real pain.

I used the Fresh Whip on my legs and arm first, to test the waters before using it on my partner or him using it on me. After I figured out that it would take effort to cause serious pain, I was comfortable using this with a little force & comfortable for him to use it on me with a little force.

Of course it takes less to hurt your arm or back with this, so those are the areas we're careful with. Once, the tassels spread out and struck my side and it hurt and turned red.

I also want to mention that if your skin is wet, be slapped with the whip can actually hurt worse than you might expect. I thought I might should mention that because I had a slap to the behind when my skin was damp from the shower and I tell you, that definitely stung more than what it usually does. However, it's also a little fun! So you could either take this as advice for adding more sting or for caution in case you happen to be planning on surprising your partner right out of the shower, or you know, happen to have your whip in the shower for whatever reason.

Ways We've Used The Whip

It took me a few tries to get the whip under control, I guess. It's long and the tassels spread out when you fling it, and that causes them to hit a little bit of everywhere instead of in just one spot. For instance, when trying to get my bottom half, some of the tassels struck my side & that hurt.

You can wrap the tassels around our hand once or twice for more control of where they land. Below is a photo with the tassels wrapped around my hand, to show what I'm saying.

I also notice that when you wrap the tassels around your hand, to give you more control of where they land, it produces a greater sting. So great that I wasn't expecting to have a lasting, red sting on my leg.

You can also take the ends of the tassels and bring them up in your hand(photo below), kind of folding the ends to create a shorter length or for a different sensation. Doing this creates more of a thud and makes the tassels feel thicker on the skin. It also eliminates the stingy ends, but it still doesn't take much force to deliver a sting!

Tying all the tassels together in a loose knot near the end (shown below) also keeps the tassels together and prevents them from spreading out and hitting places you might not want to hit. The knot also more of a slap/sting than if they're not knotted or wrapped around your hand. I like the knot in the end for bum-slapping.

My partner decided to tie the ends with a rubber band and use it to swat my crotch & this is fun since the ends are kept together and you can easily make sure you only hit one spot.

If we're slapping other, more sensitive spots than legs or bum, then I prefer no knot and sometimes no wrapping the tassels around our hands. This causes them to gently, but with a subtle slap (I wouldn't call it a sting) hit whatever area. Using it to slap somewhere like your crotch is a very interesting sensation, but of course takes extra effort to make sure it's gentle. Just a light slap there could be too much sometimes. I should mention that I'm talking about my crotch, not my partner's as he would not find a slap to his penis very pleasing.

Care and Maintenance

The Fresh Whip can be washed with warm water and mild, detergent-free soap, and EF says you can use a long-handled, soft bristle brush.

I haven't needed to use anything other than soap and warm water to clean this. I've used a toy wipe to clean the handle and tassels, which worked fine.

As for storage, I mentioned that there's a metal D-ring on the end of the handle as well as a removable chain, so it's a good idea to keep the chain on the handle rather than tossing it out with the packaging. This way, if the D-ring isn't large enough to hang the whip somewhere, the chain will be.

The Whip is long, but light and it can be folded up to fit in a toy box or drawer. However, when I left a knot in the end of the tassels, the next day, I untied it & they were scraggly from the knot. Thankfully, the tassles went back to their straight shape moments later, but if you fold it all up too tightly for a long period of time, it might cause them to be misshapen.

I prefer to just toss the whip in my large toy box or leave it hanging from a jacket hanger on the back of my door or a nail on the wall, but for more privacy, you could hang it in a closet.

Here's a picture of it hanging on the back of my door:

Caring for the whip and storing it is super easy.

I don't think I'd travel with this just because I like to travel with only items I need, but if you wanted to, it could be laid in a suitcase or folded up so it'll fit in a purse or something.

Packaging

The Fresh Whip comes simply packaged with a clear plastic slipped over it and a little plastic clamshell attached via the chain on the handle. I'll show photos of it below. I really appreciated that it was simple packaging without anything crude or distasteful on the packaging.

It's just a clamshell with a colorful paper insert that says "Fresh" and has a photo of a woman's face, nothing else.

Experience

I have had my eye on the Fresh Whip for a very, very long time now. I just never ended up getting it because I am so indecisive when I'm buying flogging items. The nice length and colors are what really attracted me to this. When it went on sale, I put it in my cart, but still didn't follow through with it (another problem I have with being indecisive), but I kept thinking about it & it came down to me realizing that I knew it was definitely something I wanted & likely would regret it if I ended up putting it off longer and it being discontinued or something. It happened to be on sale again when I got it, and I'm actually more than happy that I did. I think the sale price was awesome ($13) for this whip, especially since it's a whip that will last for a very long time. Now that I've used it, I think I would even pay full price for it, for several reasons. Enough about that.

I want to mention some of the things that I love about this whip, but if you're bored, you can skip this section. Most of the super important specs are in the above review. This is just where I like to share my experience, how I used the whip & how I compare it to whips of other materials that I own.

The whip I used before the Fresh Whip was a rubber one. Most of mine are rubber because I like the feeling of rubber tassels & because I tend to stay away from leather, which is the other alternative material in most floggers or whips. The other whip I have is faux leather & I like it, it does produce a different, more hefty type of sensation, but I can't really clean it as well as a plastic or rubber material since I can't get it too wet.

My partner & I have had so much fun with the Fresh Whip. It's already a favorite. We've used it for light slapping, for very intense whipping and more. One way that I enjoy is when my partner uses the ends of the tassels on my crotch. Rubbing them up and down is nice as is some light slapping. He ended up tying the end of the tassels together with a rubber band to hold them together that way he could swat it against my crotch & that's enjoyable for long periods of time.

The whip, combined with my partner tied up in the Under The Bed Restraint System is loads of fun for me. If you have cuffs, you can use them on your victim, I mean partner too!

I doubt I'll break out my old rubber whips anymore. This one feels so much stingier!

Thank you, Js250! I'm soooo glad it was helpful to you. I really recommend this one. I hope you do try it (it's on sale right now!) I really can't think of this as being a disappointment to anybody unless you just hate the look of it or are strictly a leather kind of person. It's a lot of fun. If you do try it, let me know how you like it.
