Bad kitty wordband collar - collar by Spartacus - review by Devy

The Bad Kitty collar by Spartacus is a real leather collar meant to be worn either in the bedroom or as a fashion statement. I chose to buy this item as a fashion statement, rather than for bondage. Because the collar snaps with only a single snap and does not have an "O" ring or anything else to connect a collar to it, it isn't great for heavy bondage. Light play should be just fine, but anything too rough might cause the collar to snap off, or become messed up.

The collar is made of black leather material, smooth on the outside and the more roughed up fuzzy feeling on the inside. There are snaps allowing for a 13-16" neck and letters attached to the front. Though this collar comes in several different words/phrases, I did choose the "Bad Kitty" collar. Each letter is attached by prods that stick through the entire collar and are bent on the inside, so they don't poke you. If you were to pry at them hard enough, you could remove the letters, but it doesn't seem they will unattach themselves.

The snaps are very easy to connect and disconnect, but unfortunately on the tighter settings, the ends of the collar don't stay lined up and are visible from behind each other.

It is very lightweight but sturdy. For me, it was a perfect size, although I do have a slender neck, so even on the tightest setting, it is a bit loose on me. I have about 12.5" all the way around, so it does tend to turn around a bit during long-term wear so that the letters aren't showing.

Overall, this handmade collar is a prime example of excellent craftsmanship. It fits average sized necks and those who are a bit larger, and it is made to last!

For heavy bondage this collar is not the best. It can become unsnapped easily during harder play. For something casual to wear out and about, it works just great! For lighter play in the bedroom, equally as great! For my purpose, I purchased this collar to accessorize my wardrobe, since I love collars. For this purpose, I feel that the collar will not become messed up and will work well and last a long time.

With appropriate leather care, this collar is bound to last a long time! While you don't ever want to submerge leather into water, you may use a damp washcloth (damp, not wet) to wipe dirt or oils from the leather. For a full list of instructions on leather care, you can visit this link here.

To store mine, I lay it flat in a drawer where it won't be disturbed. Although the collar is sturdy, long times in bent positions might damage the leather or bend it out of shape, so I won't take that risk!

This collar comes inside of a plastic, easy to tear away shell. The entire package can be recycled, including the cut-out sheet inside describing the product information, company logo and a list of the other collars available. While this particular collar itself is discreet enough to wear in public without someone figuring out where you purchased it, the packaging does list the other collars available, and some of them are sex-related (Master, Slave, etc).

If this does not worry you, you can always keep the collar in the shell, although I just threw mine in the drawer for convenience.

Although I would've loved for the collar to have some sort of attachment on it to allow for connecting a leash to it, I love this collar a lot. It has gotten quite a few comments, and a lot of giggles from my friends who find it absolutely adorable!
