I'm Sticking With You

If you're looking for a strong but comfortable introduction to BDSM products, this could very well be the product for you. You should be aware that it's not easily reusable, and experienced BDSM enthusiasts may be disappointed with the soft feel of the restraint provided by the tape.

Pros:
strong, inconspicuous out of package, simple to use
Cons:
obvious packaging, restraint may not be tough enough for some experienced BDSM users

Use

This is an awesome product for couples looking to experiment with some soft bondage. That being said, this tape is versatile enough that anyone with a little creativity would be hard pressed to find it a boring addition to his or her boudoir! This product will work both for beginners and advanced users, but it's particularly beginner friendly because of how much give the tape actually has to it; depending upon how you bind, you can actually get yourself or your partner into a very comfortable hold. It has enough strength to satisfy more experienced users, in my opinion. The really impressive aspect of this bondage tape is that it doesn't, at all, stick to you. It's essentially self-binding; it holds fast to itself without creating a bond to your skin, keeping you comfortable both during and after restraint. I also tried using it with my metal bed frame, and it worked fabulously. The best part? It doesn't hurt at all to remove!

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

You really can't get much more simple and basic than a roll of tape. The roll itself is 66 feet long, and about 2, maybe 2.5 inches wide. I bought this tape in black, so it's really not fancy or flashy. It's just what I expected: bondage tape. It took a couple of tries to start the roll - it really does stick well to itself. That's not a flaw in the design, really, just an associated inconvenience of the material. The tape itself is made of PVC, which may concern some people. Personally, because it's not actually going inside of my body, I don't have any reservations about the material. It's strong, and it doesn't hurt at all to remove. My partner and I bound my wrists and the tape held nicely, despite my frequent jolts and attempts to come loose. The roll itself is definitely discreet. You could easily leave it out in the open without a second glance.

Performance

My expectations were actually outperformed by this product. I did not expect it to be as strong as it was, and was pleasantly surprised. I was looking for a product that would make it easy to bind my wrists without the particular constraints (and noise!) of classic handcuffs, and I found it. As far as I can tell, the product is not reusable, which leaves something to be desired. If this were a product for frequent use, I would say it might not be worth the expense, but as a novelty I think it's perfectly reasonable and a lot of fun.
    • Comfortable during use
    • Easy to put on / use
    • Holds up to use well

Care and Maintenance

There really is no care involved with this product. My partner and I threw our used tape away after using a strip cut specifically for my wrists. We've been storing the rest of the roll with all of our other toys and accessories. You could honestly even leave it out in the open - it's completely inconspicuous as long as the wrapper has been removed.
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The packaging is not subtle, so I would recommend unwrapping it if you plan to leave it out in the open. It's very easy to open, though, and certainly explains the product decently.
    • Minimal
    • Not discreet

Experience

I was really impressed with this tape, and my partner really enjoyed using it on me. He's often concerned that he's hurting me when we use my cuffs (keep in mind, I count getting piercings as one of my hobbies!), but this tape really eliminated those fears and I think allowed him to enjoy his dom role a little bit more. I definitely enjoyed how effective it was as a restraint while still being very comfortable.

  • Bondage Beginners
    • For beginners, would you recommend tape or some type of rope? How difficult is it to break free?
    • Quote: For beginners, would you recommend tape or some type of rope? How difficult is it to break free?
I do not recommend rope for beginners. Two reasons. ONE: There is an art to finding "the right rope" since you are basically adapting an industrial use tool (rope) to sensitive, nude humans. Abrasions, allergic reactions, etc are the very least of your concerns. Which leads us to TWO: Rope Bondage requires skill. Not just to make pretty knots. It requires an awareness of anatomy so you know what parts of the body you are restricting blood flow from and what muscles/bones/ligament s are at risk when you force someone into an "unnatural" position or redistribute their weight. I know people who have long term injuries from inexperienced tops. Chronic pain, etc. What do you know about the circulatory system in general and this bottom's specifically? Buy some books, take a class. Buy Jay Wiseman's bondage for beginners videos. You wouldn't fly a plane without a lesson. Don't fly a lover with less care.

Tape obviously has less of the above issues because it adheres and therefore doesn't have to be overly tight to be restrictive. It moves with the person and is more likely to remove body hair than abraid or "cut" the victim. But beware of latex allergies and similar to saran wrap mummification, you still have to watch for circulation (and in the case of mummification or excessive taping --overheating) and the dangers from being stuck in one position (does your bottom have diabetes, hypoglycemia, problems that might cause clotting?) Longer bondage requires you to reposition the bottom. Check the extremities constantly. Fingers, toes, etc. Are they cold? Discolored? No one bound should ever be left unattended. NOT EVER. If you like the tie them up and walk out mind fuck, then put them in a blindfold and tell them you're going shopping, slam the door and sit down and read a book. But check on them frequently. Keep him/her in your line of sight.

As to the second part of the question: People tend to wriggle free rather than break free. So the difficulty depends on the flexibility and persistence of the submissive as well as the tension/strength of the bondage material. Tighter bonds do give less room for manipulative fingers but at the cost of shorter play time. I think it's fun to let them try and when they are close to escape, out comes the duct tape and reapply. Or actually let them "break free" enough to get good blood flow and mobility going and then retape them in a new position. Leather cuffs are the easiest to escape and are more for weight and psychological bondage than effective restraint. For safe effective bondage consider hospital restraints or straightjackets.

    • How long will a roll last?
    • The tape is actually reusable provided that you cut a length that you intend to reuse. It will get dirty after a while so we typically get through a couple of uses before throwing it away. It can also be a bit of a hassle to re-roll up. So, if you don't want to, I suppose it'll last at least a half a dozen sessions if you only wrap hands and feet. How many times you wrap around for tightness will also eat up part of the roll faster.

If you reuse it, it has the potential to last forever. I've been blatantly abusing a strip or two so I can write a really accurate review of it after a few more serious tests. x'D
And it's so darn shiny...I keep staring at it just because I love the look of it. ^_^

  • Bondage Tape
    • This is my favorite bedroom toy! It lasts forever and can be made into almost anything - restraints, a c-sheath, even a decorative outfit.

I'm not too sure on the claims it can be reused...it *can* be, but the work to untangle and then wash it isn't really worth it in my opinion...it's a really inexpensive toy so I just get another roll.

Word to the wise, it's always a safe move to keep blunt-edge safety scissors nearby when doing any sort of erotic wrapping...it allows for an easy exit if your wrapp-ee needs a bathroom break or gets uncomfortable. :)

I agree, the work required to reuse the tape, I'd rather buy a few more rolls in a few colors. Less work, and way more fun! And I second the need for scissors near the bed, as when you first unroll the tape it can be ripped but once you start moving around a bit, the tape become folded in on itself some, and makes it impossible to rip!
    • I'm totally with you on this...it's an amazing product, even for those more experienced in bondage and fetish because its so affordable and easy to use. I tried reusing it ONCE though and it was a tangled, stuck-to-itself mess!
