Ideal for a Beginner

Don't let the delicate pink color of this whip deceive you: underneath the surface, this reasonably-priced whip has a lot to offer for a beginner or a masochist that only enjoys light pain.

Use

Light and unintimidating, this gentle whip is perfect for beginners. The long falls make for a light sting and work perfectly for sensation play. The handle can be used for a deeper sting when spanking, and the d-ring is attached solidly enough to stay out of the way for this purpose.

If you're looking for serious pain, though, look elsewhere- even when trying, I was unable to coax out flashes of pain that lasted more than a few minutes. It's not a whip that you'll feel the morning after.

Design / Craftsmanship / Size / Material / Features

I was surprised by the quality of craftsmanship on this whip, given the price point. The falls are even, with a centimeter's variation between the twelve at most. The pink is more of a gray-toned lipstick than what is pictured. The falls are colored on one side, and the unfinished leather of the other side is stained a light pink. I had no difficulty with the color rubbing off in practice.

It's a very cute toy that calls the hand to it. There's something appealing about the length of the falls, the color, and the swish of it: I constantly found myself playing with it. I'd even go so far as to call it discreet - I could very easily see clasping this to a belt and wearing it without really getting comment.

The handle is made of coiled leather, and can be bent back on itself with enough force. It's as wide as a finger and comfortable to wield. I have broad hands and had no difficulty with overlap; I doubt many people would have an issue with the length of the handle.

It's small and flexible enough that it can easily be folded up and placed in a purse or even a pocket for easy transport. There's also a small d-ring on the top of the handle that could be used to hang it from a nail or a thin hook, but it's not large enough to fit anything else.

Performance

The whip fits easily and comfortably into the hand. The leather is of good quality and the coiled handle doesn't bite into the skin. It's flexible, but firm as the whip is brought down. The whip is light enough to easily use for a long session.

The falls are long and thin, and the handle short, so the whip is more sound than sting. The crack of it against skin is appealing. Even a light stroke is full of sound. Enough force can draw red dots and lines on skin from the tips of the falls, but even on my sensitive skin they fade after fifteen minutes.

The sensuality of the leather and the ease of use makes it a tempting toy. My partner isn't really into pain-play, giving or receiving, but found himself regularly reaching for it.

Packaging

The packaging of the toy is light and minimal. It's in a thin clamshell container that opens easily, and the whip isn't held in place by anything. The container is obviously intended for hanging on a wall in a shop, and I don't really see it as being suitable for anything else.

It's not discreet. The image of the woman on the front makes it perfectly clear what is in the package and that it's intended for sexual use. For all of that, though, the packaging is sensual. It's not trashy or intimidating as some toys can be - it's the kind of package that I would be comfortable to give to a friend.

The instructions are minimal, and the language on the packaging makes it clear this is a beginner whip.

Personal comments

I'm impressed by the quality of the craftsmanship in this price range, and if something happened with this whip, I would definitely purchase another. It's taken up a permanent spot on my nightstand.
Follow-up commentary
After having more time with this toy, it's still one of my favorites. The design is basic, but it does what it's designed for very well. I'll probably start looking for something more intense soon as my masochistic desires grow, but I think this one will have a place in my bedroom for a long time to come.
