First impressions are very important, especially when it comes to flogging devices. When I first got my hands on this crop, my impressions of it weren’t all that, well, impressed. Something about this crop has the look and feel as if you could have made it yourself, but one hundred times better. The “slapper” is made out of faux-leather with a red-fabric heart shape center. The stem of the crop is made of plastic, the kind that you could easily snap in two. The bottom of the crop is covered with faux-leather as well, with a loop to aid and help maneuver the speed and vigor that you put into the whippage and spankage. This crop is rather light, almost too light. It has the weight of an average thick twig or switch, but the slapper and handle gives that so-so balance with the overall feel of holding the crop in your hands. Overall, the Impressions Crop has a very underrated simplicity about it, but unfortunately, it falls short in its pain-inducing effectiveness.

If you have a high tolerance for pain, this crop may not be for you. You could slap yourself very hard with this crop, and can barely feel a thing, except that hot, warm, and tingly aftermath. Yet, if you simply want to be spanked by something non-intimidating, this crop can surely offer some thrills. The crop has that hot and lovely “SMACK!” sound when slapping it hard, but a timid "thump" sensation when doing it lightly. The smack is very LOUD; your neighbors and the cat could definitely hear it. When using the crop, it feels very light and doesn't cause any awkward strain when using it roughly or gently. The loop somehow makes using the crop feel even lighter, but is more useful as a display tool than in using it during spanking time.

As for the pain and pleasure factor of this crop, it is somewhat limited and minimal, but still feels good enough to make one squirm and bark under your partner’s dominance. Compare to other sturdier heavy-duty crops, this one is rather flimsy and weak, almost amateurish. Yet, it functions well as far as basic spanking is concerned. It is non-intimidating, rather cute, and delivers that basic message of dominance, [power, and control. The slapper may not leave behind hearts (it hasn’t yet with me no matter how hard I’ve been smacked!), but it surely left me feeling rather tingly and spanked, albeit its lack of oomph and vigor. The good thing about this crop is that it is rather short (at 23” long), so you could easily hide it under the bed, in the closet, or store it in the handy-dandy Flogger Storage Case (highly recommended). Cleaning is also a breeze, simply clean it with mild detergent free soap and warm water and a soft bristle brush (just to make it look brand new every time).

This is not a crop that will leave you aching for days, or leave you wanting more, but it is definitely one that can add that bit of spice in the bedroom. If you start off with this one, without a doubt you'd want to explore far better crops out there. This one makes for an okay start.
