This is a high quality whip. You would not expect this from the price point it is selling at. But it is a quality piece. This is made from glass and leather. Two high quality and durable items.

The glass handle is about 7/8 inch in diameter and 6 inches long. It has a slight texture to it, this texture comes from the design on the handle. There are diamonds running around the handle in rows going from bottom to top. Running through the diamonds are what I would call a vine or vine like design. This feels like it is etched in the handle, and it is gold in color. The gold stands out on the black handle.

The leather strands have a texture to them. Not that it matters, you wont be able to feel the texture when being whipped with it. But the texture does give the strands a nice look. It sort of makes them stand out. The strands are about 15 inches long. They are about 3/16 of an inch wide. I count 24 strands of leather attached to my whip. The leather is soft and flexible. It has the feel of a high end leather coat or belt. It is not stiff like some of the leather items sold here.

I did not get any strong smells when I opened the package. You have to hold the leather strands up to your nose to get any scent, and it is not one of a leather coat. It is weak and I don't believe it will be there for longer then the first use, for most people. You might be able to smell it longer if you are overly sensitive to scents. This weighs just under a pound. Not too heavy and not so light you dont know its in your hands.

This works pretty well. Now like on the crop, we don't sit there and hit each other. We are not into heavy BDSM play or pain. I tried this on my self, and gave it a pretty hard swing. It gave me some pain, not a high level of pain but it could be felt. There was no "snap". I don't know if you get a snap from a whip, as this is our first. The handle can be used for insertion. We tried it and it works. It does not provide the pleasure you would get from a nice glass or silicone dildo, but it does slide in and not cause any pain. There are no care instructions included with this whip. Most of us can figure out how to care for this. It is made from glass and leather. The glass can get wet and not be a problem, but the leather needs to get dried off right away to avoid damaging it. If you are not worried about sterilizing this, either because you are not going to share it or you are comfortable with how you are sharing this with; just a quick wipe with a damp cloth will keep this looking brand new. Use care when cleaning the leather strands, make sure to not get it too wet and air it out until it dries before storage. If you need to sterilize this, you are only going to be able to sterilize the glass handle. You can use some soap and water, again using care with the leather strands; or you can use a toy cleaner.

The packaging works well for storage. I keep ours stored in the packaging to avoid it dropping and breaking on the wood floor. The box is big though, and if you don't have the room for the box this can be stored just about anywhere. Just use caution to store it somewhere where it wont roll and fall to the ground.

This shows up in a plastic box. Mine was slightly damaged during shipping, but the product inside was just fine. So the packaging works well in protecting the whip from getting damaged. The plastic box was a clear window on the front, in which you can see the whip sitting inside. The back has some information on the whip, as well as some other products made by Icon Brands.

The inside of the packaging is a plastic tray which holds your whip. The whip is held pretty securely in the plastic tray. The tray also has a clear plastic lid that keeps the whip covered. The lid does not snap on and will fall off when turned upside down. But I can hold the tray upside down and shake it gently, without the whip falling out.

The packaging is not as discreet as I would like. I enjoy storing our toys in the packaging they came in, assuming that the packaging works for storage. This one would work well for protecting your whip while not in play.

Like I stated above, we do not use this to punish one another. It is more of a prop for her dressing up. I do fully feel this can be used for heavy play, BDSM, and punishing your sex slave; I feel it will provided the right amount of pain and will look beautiful while doing it.
