Tweezer clamps - nipple clamps discontinued by Spartacus - review by Nyx (Under the Covers)

My favorite way to use this toy on myself is to attach the tweezers to both my nipples and lightly play with the chain, tugging gently, swinging it back and forth... When in the clamps, I am generally extra-aware of sensation, so it can be amazing to wet the tip of one nipple and blow on it, creating a chilling sensation. Another fun thing is to flick your nipples, or gently scrape them with the edge of a fingernail. If using these on a partner, experimentation to see what kinds of sensations get the biggest rise out of them can be great fun.

I would recommend these for advanced beginners of all genders or for people accustomed to sensation play. I would caution true beginners and people who are new to sensation play to be careful with using these clamps, given that the degree of tightness can be easily (and accidentally) adjusted to points that may be beyond the pain threshold of the recipient. Additionally, the rubber tips can come off really easily, leaving open the possibility the tweezers end puncturing a nipple. I imagine that the tips are purposely removable, however, so that people who wish to explore sharper sensations have the option to experiment with the clamps sans rubber tips. If you know that you (or you and your partner) aren't going to seek that level of sensation, it might be worthwhile to glue the tips to the tweezers. If you do plan to explore using these clamps without their tips, please ensure that you sanitize the clamps before use, as there is a very real possibility that you may puncture skin.

The tweezer clamps are metal, with small rubber coverings (two each end) over the tweezer tips. Since these clamps are metal, they introduce opportunities for temperature play, which can add an extra dimension to the sensation. To play with the temperature, you can cool them down (with an ice cube, or in the fridge/freezer) or warm them up (with your breath/hands, or warm liquid). If you are playing with temperature, though, make sure you test the temperature on your own sensitive skin (the inside of your wrist, at minimum) before applying the clamps to a partner.

The chain quite honestly feels a little delicious to the touch; the chain links are textured but have no unexpectedly rough/sharp edges. The chain also has a nice weight to it (the product specs say that the overall weight of this product is .2 lbs), which increases the sensation; since the chain can either be threaded through a collar or left to dangle against the body. The tweezer tips, in contrast, are quite purposively sharp, which is why I would recommend keeping the rubber tips on for all except advanced players.

The metal overall is quite shiny (and pretty, in an industrial-looking way), and there is only a slightly discernible metallic scent.

The total length of these clamps, including the tweezers and the chain, is 18 inches. Of this length, each tweezer is approximately 3 inches in length (the rubber tips are about .5 inches each), and the chain makes up the remaining 12 inches. The chain is definitely sexy and affords the ability to tug on the chain to increase sensation and/or to control one's partner [be aware that tugging the chain can cause the tweezers to come loose from the nipple; there is also a risk that tugging can cause the rubber tips to come off].

Each tweezer is a single strip of metal, bent into a V-shape, with the tips bent slightly inward. The mechanism for tightening the tweezers is a metal ring at the base of each tweezer. The further you slide the ring up the tweezer, the more the sensation is heightened. Given that I will dish more pain than I'll take (I'm more sensation-oriented), I'll only take these a maximum of half-way up on my nipples, but these can definitely be tightened more for those of a masochistic persuasion :)

Given how adjustable these tweezer clamps are, they could likely accommodate most nipples (unless your nipples are larger and also very sensitive to pressure). They are definitely easier to apply if the nipples are hard, however.

The tweezer clamps are easy to put on and take off, but caution should be exercised during both application and removal: When putting on the tweezer clamps, be careful not to tighten them too quickly, as the pain/pressure level can increase quickly. When removing the clamps, especially after extended use [unless your intention is to cause extra pain], loosen the clamps slowly, and then carefully free your/your partner's nipple from the clamp (the clamps may stick to the skin of the nipple a little after prolonged use).

Given that these clamps are metal and non-porous, you have some flexibility when it comes to cleaning. If you have glued your rubber tips to the tweezers, you most likely would want to wipe the clamps down with antibacterial toy cleaner or something similar. If you can remove the tips for cleaning, you can also use hot or boiling water, but be sure to dry the clamps quickly so that you don't risk rust. If you are sharing these clamps, you should clean them between people.

A caution if you are playing tips-free: Please ensure that you sanitize the clamps between all discrete uses (even on the same person), given that this toy has the potential to puncture the skin.

I generally find that I can't keep these clamps on for more than 30 minutes before the sensation changes from pleasurably sharp to outright uncomfortable. My recommendation is to start with shorter times and work your way up; also keep an eye out for loss of sensation, since this is a sign that you should remove the clamps.
