Leather strap whip - flogging toy by Spartacus - review by Mistress M.

The intended use of the Leather Strap whip by Spartacus is of course, whipping. It was an alright whip, and satisfied what I wanted to use it for. However, there were a few inconsistencies that I was not completely satisfied with.

The texture of the whip is smooth on the outside, and pink. The underside is an unfinished leather. The textures are alright, however I was not satisfied with the leather used. My whip shredded horribly, from the under layer that was not finished. However, the leather that was used was incredibly durable, which allowed me to knot it like I do with many leather whips that I obtain.

The Leather Strap Whip is approximately 20 inches long, and weighs about half a pound. It is also Phthalates free. I wasn't thrilled with the craftsmanship of the whip. The metal studs were not completely in a straight line. The leather braiding on the end is shoddy looking and shreds like the underside of the leather straps do. It overall doesn't have the perfectly clean appearance that I expected from Spartacus. It also has a metal d-ring at the base to hang it from.

This toy performed very well, despite its unclean appearance. It left some nice, red welts, but didn't cut the skin. For me, this is a plus because a major turn off to me is having blood drawn during sex. It gave a very nice, full sting as well. Other than the messy leather shredded pieces, and the unclean appearance of the whip, I cannot complain. It wasn't a bad whip for the price, but as I mentioned, I expected more from Spartacus.

I would hand this whip up to store it, or lay it flat in a drawer. The box it comes in is also a great storage device. If the whip straps are too firm for you, one can try using some saddle soap to soften the leather and condition it. Always test the saddle soap on a small portion before using it on the entire whip because it may react different with different leather. I personally like knotting my whips, as I have mentioned, and if you would like an additional thrill, I suggest doing so. It will shorten the whip straps slightly, but not by a too incredible amount.

The packaging was very basic. Plastic, nothing too noteworthy. However, I would not leave it sitting around for company to see, because the box is see through.

Because of the look of the whip, I have to give it a four out of five stars.

We tried this whip out. I used it on my boyfriend first, and he seemed to enjoy the pain the whip inflicted thoroughly. When he used it on me, I loved it. It gave this toe-curling sting that I felt through my entire body. Then again, I love pain. As I mentioned, if you can get past the slightly disheveled look of the whip, it isn't a bad choice. It is also very affordable, especially for a leather whip.

I have really started to like this whip more. After awhile, the leather stopped shedding, and it has definitely held up for some very interesting, fun play. I would have to continue to recommend this whip to others as well. I only wish that it came in other colors besides pink.
