Lights Out

There are only so many ways to make a blindfold and it's awfully hard to screw up. There are no fancy features or designs with this, it merely limits your vision and nothing more. It fits comfortably, offers ample coverage for your face, and stays on during use. What more could you ask for?

Use

This no-nonsense blindfold hits the mark - there are no bells and whistles, no frills, nada. If you find yourself getting frustrated with silk ties that slide around and move, then this is an obvious upgrade for the newbie and experienced alike.

Blindfolds are a low-impact way to get started into the lighter aspects of BDSM and also to begin exploration into the most basic forms of sensory play. There is little to fear here, so vanilla couples looking to try something new have an easy in to keep the bedroom moves fresh.

For a bit of tongue-in-cheek, I have also deemed this "travel-friendly", as it's essentially a leather airline eye mask. If you need to catch some z's mid-flight, you could probably whip these babies out and have yourself a comfortable snooze without being accused of being a pervert.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

The blindfold itself is strung on elastic. The unfortunate part here is that it is not adjustable, but the straps do have a lot of give to them, meaning they should fit a wide variety of heads out there. The elastic bands are not grabby, so your hair shouldn't catch or snag.

The material appears to be of an acceptably good quality for the price you pay with no ragged edges. The elastic is stitched in between the layers of leather and has a slightly textured side to help stay put. Oddly, the mask has a chemical smell to it that is actually pretty unpleasant. You might try wiping it down with some leather-friendly cleaner or wipes, though the smell is not detectable unless you get your nose right up to it.

Performance

It's pretty hard to screw up something as basic as a blindfold; after all, its only function is to cover your eyes! It offers an adequate amount of coverage at the top and middle, though there is a little light leaking at the bottom. This is to be somewhat expected with masks as opposed to ties and wraps, simply due to cut needed to fit the mask over your nose.

Despite this, the light leak isn't at all awful, and the mask offers just enough pressure on your eyelids that the desire to open your eyes should be sufficiently prevented. The elastic isn't bad, but I found myself wishing I could adjust it to be just a little bit tighter.

Overall, the mask is extremely comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. It blocks light sufficiently enough, and doesn't feel at all awkward or out of place on your head.
    • Comfortable during use
    • Easy to put on / use

Care and Maintenance

Should anything happen to spill, it would be simple enough to wipe down the leather with a damp washcloth. I wouldn't recommend putting leather through the wash for any reason.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

The packaging is about as bare-bones as they come, consisting of nothing but a large plastic zipper bag and nothing more. No instructions, no gaudy insert with a porn model, just a clear plastic bag. It's nothing if not utilitarian, right?
    • Good for storage

Follow-up commentary
This thing is perfect! It has stood up to frequent use and I've started to find reasonably comfortable ways to settle it over my eyes to where it limits my vision much more effectively. This is simple, easy, and no-frills. Awesome!

Definitely easy to whip out and use on a plane flight as opposed, say, to the Funky Jelly Vibe... I found if you double the elastic through a paper clip you won't catch your hair and it holds the elastic pretty firm if it begins to stretch out a bit. You could also use a safety pin.
