Ankle kink cuffs by Kinklab - review by Lara

I am a big fan of KinkLab products and the Ankle Kink Cuffs give me yet another reason to like the company. I’ve found them to be stylish, user friendly and versatile. I’d still consider myself to be a novice at BDSM play and prefer light bondage and restraint games. For that, the Ankle Kink Cuffs are ideal.

KinkLab’s Ankle Kink Cuffs are the complement to their Wrist Kink Cuffs and are almost identical in every respect. The big difference between the two is size–not surprisingly as one is geared towards your wrists and the other towards your ankles.

With the Ankle Kink Cuffs, a one-inch wide strap of leather is riveted to a two-inch wide strap of nylon. The nylon strap is soft and flexible–think of the nylon straps that come on nice backpacks and you’ll have a rough estimate of the softness. The leather is thick and sturdy, giving the form to the Ankle Cuffs.

The hardware is equally sturdy. The D-ring is wide enough for a very broad range of materials to pass through. Personally, I prefer snap hooks, but the attachment point is wide enough for rope, thin chain, scarves, etc. The fastener uses a buckle enclosure, making it very easy to use.

Once in, you’re in. There are no two ways about it. Where you go from there is completely up to you and your partner. For me, it meant being tied up to my bed and having my virtue compromised with a variety of dildos. It also meant feeling like a damned fool hopping around trying to exert some modicum of control on the situation even though there wasn’t a single thing I could do to free myself or convince my partner I should be freed until I sucked him dry.

Before getting the Ankle Cuffs, my partner and I had used rope to bind my legs. It works, but it’s a stopgap measure. The flexibility and variety that the Ankle Cuffs introduced was pretty awesome. It sounds clichéd, but I don’t know what I did without them before.

There is only one thing that irks me about the Ankle Cuffs and that’s something that I’ve encountered with many other BDSM toys. The quality of the materials and workmanship is erratic. In this case, one Ankle Cuff has great leather that is securely fastened to the nylon strap, but one of the nylon strap’s short edges has begun to fray. There are a few lose threads hanging off of the nylon strap’s long edge. The other Ankle Cuff has a gorgeous nylon strap, but the rough side of the leather sheds slightly.

These are minor irritants and certainly don’t take away from the Ankle Cuffs’ usability. If you’re like me, though, and are a stickler for consistency in quality, there may be some disappointment. Keep in mind that EdenFantasys has a fantastic return policy. I took advantage of it with another product and had absolutely no problem exchanging the item.
