Love for the love cuffs?

Handcuffs by Pipedream

Published: August 8, 2008
useful review
Not really that exiting, these cuffs are decent enough if you just want a little light play sometimes, but does not feel like they are up for the real job.
Pros:
Comfortable, cheap.
Cons:
Not real leather, easy to get in and out of.
Rating by reviewer:
This toy was definitely designed
I like bondage, and one of the things I like the most about it is being restrained. This might explain why I like handcuffs. Now I have had a few sets of handcuffs in my life, but none as nice as the leather love cuffs. I am also a big fan of leather and leather-looking things and in these cuffs I got both of those two obsessions of mine.

The leather is of course not real. This is worrying me some; through my seamstress experience I have had the joy of working with the exact same kind of fake leather and it does have a tendency to tear at seams. However the little sleeve (that is what it looks like) does not have any seams that you will put a lot of strain on so it is quite possible that it works just fine. What I am less impressed with is the sewing job on the sleeves. There are ends of tread sticking out and the sleeves have little unattractive holes in them. This is, however, something you only notice when you look closely at them.

The sleeves are perfect to keep from pinching the skin. Up until these cuffs I had only had cuffs without sleeves and I know that for wearing purposes I definitely prefer the sleeves. They also made it possible to wear the cuffs for longer than I am used to, even behind my back (which I generally am a big sissy about). The fake leather made it comfortable for me to pull more on the cuffs and thus be able to have a lot more relaxed arm and shoulder position, which was just what I needed for the extended play my mistress and I were doing that evening.

The cuffs themselves are your standard play handcuffs. They are fairly light, easy to get in and out of. Even without the keys, I have in fact yet to use the keys. This is for me a little bit of an added safety thing for light play. I like having the knowledge that I can get out. But I would never ever use these cuffs for any heavy play where I wanted to be properly restrained. They seem too flimsy and too easy to get out of for that.

I personally do not think these cuffs will be used much. They will make an interesting piece hanging on the wall over my bed. However, due to the price and the comfort while wearing them I would recommend them to people who just sometimes want to play or are curious.

Also, look into sport cuffs, they'll feel a whole lot better!

They definitely look more comfortable than bare metal, but I wouldn't want to strain seriously while wearing them...

Oh, I totally agree. I would never wear or have a lover wear metal cuffs for anything where they might hurt something. For me they are something for short term (ie less than 30 mins) and for fun. For anything else I would use leather or ropes. I have a pair of leather cuffs that I got sometime back. I so totally adore them. However, they tend to run a little higher in price (at least the pair I have did) and if this is something for once for not very serious play... But for anybody who want the added safety of leather, the look or feel of it (that was what drew me to them in the first place), or want anything more serious like actually restraining your lover or yourself, I totally agree with you, leather cuffs are the best for that.

I would wholeheartedly recommend that you (as well as anyone else looking at this) try some actual leather handcuffs; they're are safer for your body and often provide a range of options as far as light-heavier restraint (adding locks, etc.).

Metal cuffs can cause tendon and/or nerve damage, as well as unwanted bruising, and are more limited in terms of positioning and wear-time for those reasons.
