Metal Worx Magnetic nipple clamps - bondage toy by Pipedream - review by lexical

The Metal Worx Magnetic Nipple Clamps by Pipedream are a set of two circular steel clamps, accented with faux diamonds on the ends of each miniature magnetized "handle". They are intended to be placed on the nipples of, well, any human being who has nipples! However, those with smaller nipples may find these difficult to apply. They are not adjustable, so they may not be the best option for beginners. If you've tried adjustable clamps in the past and are looking for something a little more advanced and challenging to wear, these beautiful, glitzy, metal clamps may be right up your alley.

The Magnetics are cast in high-quality steel and hand-polished to a glossy, almost mirror-like shine. They have faux jewels on each end, with flared handles that allow easy opening of the magnets. Simply pull them apart, press the circular ring around the nipple, capturing it between the bars, and slowly release. The metal material is cool, nonporous, and easy to clean. The portions that come into contact with the nipple feel smooth and seamless.

These would be incredible for use in temperature play, since the metal ring would also be touching the flesh around the nipple, unlike most clamps that often have metal tips and that only grip the nipple itself. Place them in the refrigerator or in warm water and experiment with the sensations! They are waterproof and, obviously, latex- and phthalates-free. They have no taste or odor to them.

I find these clamps to be absolutely beautiful. There is no ugly, dangling chain between them. They accent and frame the nipples wonderflly, with a little bit of sparkle and shine. From one gem to another, the clamps are just over 2" wide, while the ring itself is 1" in diameter. The two little magnetized bars that grip the nipple are 1/2" long. If your nipples are any thicker than 1/2" these clamps may be exceptionally painful because the edges of the bars may bite into your flesh. People with nipples that are very small may also find these particularly painful. When the clamps have a larger surface area to press on, the pain is distributed more. With small nipples, the pressure is concentrated. Since these are not adjustable, it is a good idea to take the size and sensitivity of your or your parnter's nipples into consideration.

Pipedreams claims that you can "get just the right squeeze every time" and that the Magnetics will "delicately keep your nipples hard". This may not be the case for you. It wasn't for me. I don't find them to be delicate at all. Fortunately, I'm a masochist and I was looking for a more painful fit. I find them quite pleasurable to wear, purely because of the pinch and because it tends to become more intense with time. Pulling each end of the handles will spread the magnets apart, making applying and removing the clamps very easy.

Surprisingly, they do stay on very well. Pipedreams says that "they won't fall off when the action heats up", but that depends on what action you're referring to. For example, lying flat on your back will not put as much gravitational pull on the clamps as leaning forward will. With a lot of bouncing and jostling, they may slip off bit by bit, which is a very painful process (going back to that rule that says the smaller the surface area, the more concentrated the pain). This is not necessarily a bad thing. I know some sadists who would absolutely adore this feature, as it means that slapping the breasts or causing them to bounce with the impact of rough fucking will most likely lead to the clamps slowly and painfully slipping off the nipples.

Unfortunately, I have a major complaint about these clamps. I am super anal about things being even. The fact of the matter is that these are not even. The magnets on one of the clamps must be aligned slightly incorrectly because they don't line up perfectly, which results in a less intense pinch when they're applied. In addition to that, the one clamp must have openings that are slightly too small because when you pull on the handles, the bars are very difficult to move. Sometimes they stick and the magnets aren't strong enough to pull them free. It's very frustrating! Here are some pictures to demonstrate. I've contacted Pipedreams about getting a replacement for that one. I will update with their response when I hear back from them.

Cleanup is a breeze. A simple rinse with a mild soap and warm water will leave your clamps clean and shiny. Avoid abrasive cleansers to prevent scratching. I believe that they could be sterilized in a 10% bleach solution, but I would not recommend boiling them or running them through the dishwasher, as the gems on the ends may detach.

Each item in the Metal Worx line comes in a latching case that you can use to store your toys after use. There are stickers on the top and bottom of the case. The top has the name and photograph of the item inside, while the bottom just has Pipedream's logo, website, and other company information. The boxes make lovely gift packages as well, if you remove the stickers first. The top still says "Pipedreams, Metal Worx", as you can see, but it's a very attractive and discreet box for the most part. They appear to be fairly high quality, but the hinge on mine is dangerously close to coming loose and the latch on the front is slightly off-kilter. A little more effort would go a long way towards making this a legitimately luxurious item.



Opening the case reveals the item(s) cradled in a sparkly, black foam nest. The foam is easily removable, making this case perfect for storing other items as well. Since purchasing these clamps, the box has now become the home for my three other sets of clamps! They fit perfectly.
