The Illusions Spank Her Paddle is a leather paddle made by Ruff Doggie Styles. It's a little over a foot long and about three inches wide and makes for a firm impact toy. Both sides of the paddle are made from leather, but one side happens to have a bit more padding than the other. At the bottom of the handle, there's a hole in the paddle where a small leather loop hangs off the end to allow you to hang the paddle when you're done. The paddle doesn't come in any specific packaging - it just comes with a small tag that hangs off the end of the loop which is really easy to cut off.

The paddle itself seems to be very well made. It looks like the layers of the paddle were nicely stitched together to made this paddle. The stitching is very well done on the outside, and there are no threads or anything that are coming loose. The front side has a pretty pattern on the leather itself and also includes a bit of padding underneath the surface to help cushion the blow a little bit. The backside is extremely smooth and has no texture to it at all. The entire paddle is very rigid and has zero flexibility to it - it stays completely straight even if you attempt to wiggle it. For some odd reason, my paddle came with the slightest little curve towards the top of it (I show it in the video - it's not much at all). The curve hasn't affected use in the slightest, but I just find it odd that it exists on the toy at all.

The handle is extremely comfortable to grasp in my hand. I have a relatively medium-sized hand for a female, so it's a moderate sized handle. A male with a really large hand may have a hard time grasping onto the paddle, but from what I can tell, the paddle should be easy to grasp for any sized hands. It's relatively even when it comes to weight - it won't feel too heavy to hold, and actually goes a little bit on the "light" side than on the heavy side. Like I said, it has no flexibility, so it's really not hard to aim this paddle exactly where you'd like it to hit. Where you aim it is where it will end up striking.

Contrary to its cute exterior, the Illusions Spank Her isn't all that friendly of a paddle. It's actually pretty painful, and I definitely wouldn't recommend this to a beginner. Because it is so firm and because it's lacking in the padding, it tends to provide quite a bit of a sting when swung. It can be used very, very lightly on the skin, but because it's so firm, it will still hurt if hit over the same spot a couple times. When used with actual force, this paddle can be a submissive's worst nightmare - it's stingy, it's painful, and it packs quite a bit of a thud behind it.

I honestly had requested this for review thinking it'd be nicely padded and would feel sensual on the skin. Not so much. This definitely is light on the padding and provides two unique sensations since you can use the padded side and the non-padded side for striking. The padded side is slightly more friendly than the non-padded side. The non-padded leaves a horrible stinging sensation after the swat. The padded side is a bit more protected and soft. Like I said, though, anything with either side stronger than a light tap is going to end up causing some stinging.

Because the paddle is so firm, it doesn't contour to your "victim's" bottom, so you can expect a pretty decent sound from this. If you are softer when striking, it won't matter as much, but if you want to deliver a decent spanking, this could be heard through a closed door.
