Makes me feel like Jackson Pollack

This is a really fun whip. It has a whimsical paintbrush shape and it can leave enough of a mark to "paint" someone a little red. It gets even more fun when you add some body paints and turn your lover into your canvas. Best of all, it is well made and sturdy enough to last. This is one of my favorite whips.

Use

I would recommend this whip for just about anyone interested in BDSM, or just looking for a new way to use some body paint. It can pack quite a punch for being so small, so beginners may want to work up to using it for flogging. The long rubber strings make an excellent teaser when lightly dragged over skin. I definitely recommend picking up some body paints to use it with! Using it as a paintbrush adds lots of fun to body painting if you enjoy a little pain. Dipping the rubber "bristles" into some body paint and whipping your partner gives fun splashes of color and some pain as well. The handle of the whip can also be used as a very small paddle, and gives quite a sting as well.

This would also make a fun gift for a kinky artist in your life! It would probably be a really fun tool to simply paint with on a paper or canvas, too.

Design / Craftsmanship / Size / Material / Features

The paintbrush shape of this whip is adorable, and it's very well made. The leather handle is very firm and fits into my hand easily, although I would imagine someone with larger hands would be able to get an even better grip on it. There is also a wrist loop to keep it in your hand when things get heavy. The rubber strings are about 3mm in diameter and about 8 inches long. The whole thing is stitched together very well and I am confident that it will hold up for a long time.

Performance

This whip can give an exquisite sting or a soft thud, depending on how hard you swing it. Either way it makes a nice thudding noise when it hits the skin. The handle can also be used like a paddle, so there is a lot of versatility in this whip. My favorite use for it, however, is as a body paint applicator. I smeared a little edible body paint onto the ends of the strings and whipped my partner with it, leaving streaks of paint across her body as well as delightful little red marks from the whip itself. The fairly thick strings leave nice little red lines when enough force is used, letting you "paint" your partner red even without paint.

Care and Maintenance

If you are not using paints with the paintbrush whip, not too much care and cleaning is necessary. A wipe down with a toy cleaning cloth or a wet washcloth should suffice to keep it nice and clean between uses. If you do use some sort of paint with it, I would only recommend using body paints or other washable non-toxic paints to avoid damage to the rubber strings or your partner's skin. To clean it up after painting with it, give the strings a rinse in some warm running water and a little soap. Try not to get the handle wet, though. I have a feeling that more than a little water could probably damage the handle and I'm not willing to try it and risk damaging such a nice whip.

As for storage, keep it away from other rubber whips. The strings would very likely get tangled together and the rubbers could react to one another and cause damage. I recommend either hanging it up (if you can get away with having a whip hung up in your bedroom) or storing it in a cloth bag to keep it from getting tangled.

Packaging

I got this whip in a simple plastic bag. The only "packaging" was the paint can shaped tag attached to the wrist strap ribbons. No instructions, no box, no reusable storage bag. If you are giving this as a gift, you will need to repackage it. On the plus side, no embarrassing packaging to go into the trash!
