Master suspension cuffs - wrist cuffs by ASLAN Leather - review by Zandrock

The Master Suspension Cuffs by Aslan are bondage cuffs that can also be used for suspension bondage. Suspension bondage is where the person confined in bondage is raised off the ground other partially or completely. It creates a very unique experience and some people greatly enjoy it. Just a word on safety though. Suspension bondage puts a lot more force on joints which means the risk of damage to them increases. There is also the risk of fall which can be quite serious, because a person in bondage cannot brace themselves and cushion their fall at all. You also need a point that can hold the person's weight (and you typically want it to be able to hold 5 times their weight). So do read up on suspension bondage before you try it.

This product is great for beginners to advanced users. It is a niche item that is aimed at more advanced people looking for suspension bondage and you do get a price tag that matches that, but these are great for beginners. Sometimes my partner and I use these as regular bondage cuffs and they work great for that too. Again you are overpaying if you are using them in that fashion. If you a beginner and wanted to one day try suspension bondage these could be a good investment from the start.

These are suspension cuffs so right away you will notice they look different than most bondage cuffs. You will notice they have the normal bondage cuff structure with a single buckle running around that holds the cuff. But on top of that there are strips of leather that end in D rings. The D-rings are so for attaching the cuffs to someplace above the ground. So an eyehook in the ceiling, or the upper from of a bondage bed, or whatever you have in your structure. The strips of leather are for the person to hold on to. This allows them to distribute their body weight from just their wrists into their entire arms. This makes suspension bondage much more comfortable and safe. Here is a photo of the cuffs:



These are padded cuffs. So on the inside you can see small cushions basically. This is to provide more comfort for the person wearing them. When you full body weight in on your wrists it can be painful, but the padding makes the experience a lot more comfortable. Here you can see the padding:


These cuffs are made out of leather. Now leather is a very durable material. It can last decades if properly cared for. The leather on these cuffs is very thick and very durable and Aslan backs them up with a lifetime guarantee. So you can tell they are going to last. Leather is a porous material, so you do want to be careful to avoid getting fluids on it, as it is impossible to sterilize. Now leather items come in different qualities, and this is the leather a person dreams about. It is shiny, it is smooth, it is supple and just divine. This is a quality piece of leather. The stitching is well done. It is straight, and none of it is coming undone. The craftsmanship on these cuffs is just superb. Leather does have a distinct smell to it, but I find that quickly fades over time

These cuffs are adjustable with a buckle. They should fit wrists in the 6-8 inch range. Women with very small wrists might be unable to use them. I am a male who is 6 feet tall and 180 pounds. I wear these on the second notch, so people who have larger wrists will likely fit them. I would think most average people will have these cuffs fit them. If you have very small wrists or very large wrists I would try to find a store that sells these and test them before buying them.

Overall I think these are well designed suspension cuffs. If you look around you can find suspension cuffs with more buckles that more completely surround the wrist and distribute weight. So for long periods of complete suspension there are likely better choices. But for some basic beginner to moderate full body suspension and all partial suspension I think these are really great cuffs.

These bondage cuffs performed excellently. As I mentioned before the leather is superb quality and there is nice padding, so they are very comfortable to wear. When you are using these for partial or complete suspension you grab onto the straps at the top of the cuffs. In doing so you do grab the edge of the leather which is rougher than the cuff portion of the restraints. This can rub a bit and cause some discomfort. So the longer you go for and the more you need to hold your own weight up the more uncomfortable they will be. That being said suspension bondage always has a degree of discomfort when using cuffs, because you weight is on your wrists which are not designed to support you full body weight for extended periods of time. Overall they provide a great suspension bondage experience, but will provide some slightly discomfort to your hands.

These greatly exceeded my expectations. For the price you can buy these cuffs at they are a great deal. They are expensive, but all suspension bondage equipment is and I think Aslan has a very reasonable price tag on these.

As mentioned before you can use these are regular bondage cuffs. You can just put them on your partner and restrain them using them. The added area to grab does add a bit of a different experience. You can force them to hold on to it and prevent them from using their fingers to do anything (such as pleasuring themselves).

This toy is made out of leather, so it does require more care than other toys. After you use the wrist cuffs, you should wipe it down with a damp soapy cloth. From what I have read either glycerin saddle soap or dish soap works great. After you wipe it down you should dry off any excess moisture and let it dry completely before storing it. It should be stored in a place with at least a little airflow to prevent mold growth. I plan on storing mine in a plastic container under my bed with my other leather toys. Because it is leather, it can dry out over time. So, it is best to condition your leather toys once every 1 to 3 months. This will depend slightly on your climate. You should never completely submerge your toy is water. This will damage the leather.

It is also important to note leather is a porous material. It is not advisable to use this toy on anybody other than a fluid bonded partner. Some people use leather toys for multiple people if they clean it thoroughly. This includes soap and then typically exposing it to air for at least 72 hours, and then some people expose it to UV radiation for a couple minutes to kill everything else. If you would want to use this with multiple partners though read up on it, because there are some additional risks

Like all Aslan toys these cuffs come in a clear plastic bag with a small tag attached to them. The tag tells you they have a lifetime guarantee how to clean them (pretty much what I said above) and that you can use a clear nail polish on all the metal to prevent it from ever rusting.

These really are not subtle. You can see them right through the package and I think with the advent of fifty shades of grey most people know what bondage cuffs are. I would open these in a private location.

I would not store these in the bag provided, because it is best to let them get some airflow to prevent any mold or mildew from growing on them.
