Aslan ball gag - headgear by ASLAN Leather - review by leopardprint

The Aslan leather silicone ball gag is a quality piece-- like most Aslan products, the leatherwork is superb, it has strong construction and safe materials. All hardware is reliably secure, and the interchangeability of the ball itself makes this a versatile tool for muffling, stuffing & gagging! This is definitely an all-abilities toy: the design is simple, streamlined, and pretty easy to figure out. That said, this item was not without its drawbacks.

This ballgag consists of three soft leather straps (the center one is removable, it snaps on and off) and a silicone ball (which rests on the center strap, and can be removed & sterilized). Mine came in solid black (personal preference) but classic red is available too.

Perhaps I have a small head, but the strap was really excessively long for me. I have a leather-punch that I've used to put notches in belts that weren't the right size, so I actually punched another hole in the strap so that it fit my head better (approximately where another notch would logically go anyway, but still). If you have a small cranium, you might need to trim the strap and/or punch another hole in the strap. Depending on how you prefer the strap to fit, of course.

If you are of average-sized skull, however, I'm sure the notches in the strap would be sufficiently adjustable.

Aside from the strap being slightly too big for me, I was very pleased with this item. The strap doesn't dig in anywhere (hardware is well-placed) and the ball itself is remarkably soft for silicone. This was easier on my jaw than many other gags I've tried, and it has held up against strain. There was no damage after biting on it (to my jaw or teeth or the ball), which is pretty win-win, if you ask me! I have had other, tougher gags in the past, but after a session, my jaw was aching from the position and the hardness of the ball itself. This one is softer and easier on me.

The Aslan Silicone ball gag came in a plastic bag, and the bag is where I store it now. It's easy to store and care for: leather conditioners can be used on the straps (though not recommended on the piece that may enter the mouth, if there are yucky chemicals), or can be wiped with a damp (not wet) cloth- submerging leather in water will damage it. The ball is silicone and thus can be boiled, bleached, or washed with soap and water, depending on your preference. It is a little difficult to get off and on the center strap, but the effort is well worth it to have a clean toy!
