Fluffy flogger - whip discontinued by Ruff doggie styles - review by Mr. & Mrs. Peg

The Fluffy Flogger by Ruff Doggie Styles ( I did NOT make that up!) is the perfect addition to the toy box of adventurous couples who are looking to amp up their BDSM play from the light to the slightly more intense. Advanced players may, however, find it a bit too tame if they are looking to really deliver a sting. It is an excellent warm up flogger though if you are into intense play.

The Fluffy Flogger is a ‘thuddy’ flogger as opposed to a stingy flogger. It is heavy and the falls are thick and densely packed so when the floggee is stuck it makes a very pleasing thud. This is not particularly unpleasant in the least. (Again, if you are looking for a little discomfort….this may not be the delivery method of choice.) It does produce a nice reddening of the subjects ass cheeks which can be very visually appealing but with a reasonable amount of care I don’t think you can really hurt the subject. It is possible to create a slight sting if you strike the subject with the tips of the Fluffy Flogger. This too isn’t terribly intense but it can be done. We prefer to stick to the thuds though as that is the most reliably deliverable bit of punishment.

The Fluffy Flogger consists of 36 falls attached to a handle with a hanging loop. Twenty-four of the falls are black suede leather that measure about 21 inches long by 3/8 inches wide. These are what create much of the thud, and deliver any of the stings that might be meted out. There are also twelve fluffy (hence the name) falls that are made from synthetic fur. These are folded over and sewn or glued so the fur is on both sides. These falls keep the leather falls from delivering too much pain. They also provide a very delicate and delightful sensation when pulled over the skin of the floggee.

The handle has an overall length of nine inches and is wrapped in braided white (or pink) and black leather. The handle is sturdy and feels like it may have a wooden core. The gripping area is a generous 6 ¼ inches in length. The braided leather ensures that you can get a firm grip on the flogger. Each end has a cap that is 1 11/16 inch in diameter and 1 3/8 long. The falls are attached to one cap. The cap at the other end has the hanging loop. This loop measures 4.5 inches and is 3/16 inches in diameter. It too is made of braided leather.

The Fluffy Flogger is a well-constructed tool which should provide years of use if properly cared for. The braided parts seem very tight and I can’t see any areas where the edges or seams have come unglued. We have used this quite a bit so any immediate flaws would have since been discovered. There is not really any way to clean the falls. The handle could, I guess, be wiped down with a damp cloth if it happened to get lube or something on it. However, if the falls get sticky or covered in something I can’t think of any way to get them clean.
