My First Paddle

While the toy was fun for a couple evenings and delivers a night of light spanking when you want it, I was hugely disappointed by the fact that it did not leave the word printed on my ass like the site I bought it from claimed. Aside from the mental association the paddle creates, you may as well use your bare hand for the same amount of pain.

Use

The paddle delivers a hearty slap when you want it to and can be much gentler with a reserved hand. This one is probably best for the beginners out there as it doesn't give the kind of lasting sting some people may want.

Those individuals wishing to start exploring their kinky side will love this paddle, although it may not hold up to long term rigorous use or deliver the kind of pain serious players may want.

Design / Craftsmanship / Size / Material / Features

The paddle is about 13 inches long with a spanking surface of roughly 5 inches. The paddle is made of two pieces of black leather sewn together around the edge of the handle. The handle is quite firm and has the Sportsheets logo on it lengthwise as well as around the silver metal eyelet which has a woven nylon loop through it for hanging.

The spanking area of the paddle is not sewn, and here there is a piece of red paper sandwiched between the two leather layers with the uppermost layer of leather having the word "SLUT" cut out of it. When I first got the paddle, these three layers were glued together. However after about five sessions, they have come apart and flap around, creating an irritating sound. The now-exposed paper could be torn out or damaged if one was careless.

Performance

This paddle can deliver a high-pitched sting to the flesh, although not long lasting at all. Harder spanking creates a longer lasting, deep pain which may leave red marks that last about twenty minutes.

The small size and lightweight make the paddle easy for anyone to use, and the handle is sturdy and comfortable to hold; it seems well-made. The loop is a nice feature so it could be hung off a hook or belt.

Unfortunately, after some use the ends of the spanking part have separated and now make an irritating clacking sound.

The biggest downfall of this toy for my partner and me was that no matter how hard either of us wielded it, we could not create the word impression on the skin. Perhaps if the lettering were raised on the paddle this would work. This was very disappointing.

Care and Maintenance

Storage for this toy was very easy because of its thin profile and small size; it could be kept almost anywhere, although heat and damp could warp it. I kept mine in a storage bin under my bed.

Same care as you would use for leather, although I doubt you'd ever need to condition or oil it. Wiping the toy with a damp cloth or all purpose toy cleaner should be fine, although getting the spanking part wet could ruin the red paper that colors the letters.

Packaging

I received my paddle from another online store, and it came to me in a brown cardboard shipping box, not even bubble wrapped. It did have tags on the hanging loop like you would expect to find on clothing, with a logo and product name. Luckily this toy doesn't need any special care or storage, although some kind of presentation would have been nice.

Personal comments

Definitely buy this toy if you're just going to play with it occasionally or have never tried a paddle before, but it wont do much for those looking for some real pain.

Experience

When the package arrived, I practically ran home from the post office. I couldn't wait to have SLUT spanked right into my skin. We really enjoyed the submission and humiliation of using a paddle that said "SLUT" on it. The whole look of the paddle really helped to set the scene. We've had quite a bit of fun with it but will be looking for some more serious gear.

I keep hoping I'm going to find a review that says that the impressions worked but it seems pretty universal that the only ones that leave nice marks are the Stars and Hearts paddles... Good thing I like stars!

    • I am going to buy one of the two and what one would be better?
    • Depends on what you are looking for, i find floggers to be better for teasing, while paddles better for pain.
    • They give 2 very different sensations. A paddle tends to give sharper strikes (after you work up to it) and a flogger is generally used to work a person up slowly to a heightened state where their endorphines are pumping and they can take more. Like a prep.
