Nice wrap, great packaging, shame about the smell. Useful for people with limited mobility.

This product does exactly what it says on the box - restrains. It is simple to use and is equally usable by those of us with physical disabilities. However, we found the smell to be distracting, and it doesn't seem to fade. For that reason, we're deducting a point to give it four stars.

Use

Need something small and innocuous looking that you can keep on hand for those moments of spontaneous bondage play? Restraint Wrap may be the very thing you've been looking for. This 4 inch by 180 inch (10cm by 457cm) roll of what is basically Vetrap bandage tape can be used to quickly and securely restrain wrists and ankles without leaving a mark or sticking to the skin.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

This is a latex free, cotton blend, elasticated material which is available in any colour you want, so long as it's black. It should really be considered as single use as much of the elasticity is lost once it is removed. How it fits is entirely down to the person doing the restraining, as the tape must be stretched before wrapping. Once in place, it contracts and tightens, leaving the wrists/ankles/chosen body part securely restrained with just two or three turns. However, we both find the chemically smell of the tape to be unpleasant. For this reason, we would not use it as a blindfold, although you technically could.

Unfortunately, the box does not give details of the composition of the wrap, so we don't know what the elastic is made of, or what is giving that smell (presumably the same thing.) It seems to be vaguely rubbery in scent, so perhaps that is it. Whatever it is, it does not react badly to my skin, and so long as the wrap is not too close to my face, the smell isn't intrusive.

Performance

We are both disabled. My boyfriend has limited use of his hands but reports that it is much easier for him to restrain me with this product than using rope or metal handcuffs. It can be applied very quickly as long as the person being restrained isn't struggling.

When applied, the wrap is tight but not painful, and cannot be escaped from easily but hey, that's what you wanted, right?

Whenever using restraint, be sure to stay aware of extremities, and keep scissors nearby - paramedic scissors are best - to rapidly remove it if the extremities become cold, numb, or blue.

Hmm... I could use a pedicure
    • Comfortable during use
    • Easy to put on / use

Care and Maintenance

Technically, this product can be used more than once. In practice though, it loses much of its elasticity when removed from the body. It might be possible to use it a second time, but not more than that.

Packaging

The packaging is excellent. It is well designed, sturdy, informative and erotic without any of that awful outdated porno look that so many manufacturers still use. It is actually quite classy - sexy without being exploitative. The box is sturdy enough to use for storage, but oversized for the product it holds. You could use it to store your restraint wrap, condoms, lube, and other small bits for convenience sake.

The Sex and Mischief line is quite clever and subtle as a way of introducing S&M to a relationship in a lighthearted, non-threatening way. The box even has a little mildly erotic story on the back about a woman restraining her lover to a chair while she strips for him. There is a QR code that said it can be scanned for more stories and to see the video, but I lack the tech to investigate.

Nice packaging, but overized
    • Good for storage
    • Not discreet
    • Very informative

Personal comments

If this product had been available years ago when we first started our journey into BDSM, we would have found it an inexpensive and easy way to explore the bondage side of the dynamic.

Experience

Because of our disabilities, we do not play with restraint and bondage as much as we did in our younger days. This type of wrap is much easier to use and more comfortable on sensitive joints than rope or metal. I liked that it was so easy to use and so flexible. Someone with more mobility could do fun things like wrist to ankle, but that isn't really possible for me.

I felt very restrained, without any discomfort. I also liked that it was quick to remove when I needed to be able to move again. We keep the paramedic scissors nearby for these scenes, and the tape comes right off.

Now he rolls me on my belly, and...
Follow-up commentary
We still use this occasionally, and still find it easier to use than cuffs or ropes. It's an excellent tool for people who want to try restraints without spending a lot of money, or for people (like me) who have disabilities that might make other types of restraints painful in the not-sexy way.

Awesome review. I love that it doesn't hurt but still restrains really well- because while I love tying him up and making sure he can't get out, I never want less-than-pleasurable pain mixed in with it, and he's super hairy. This review definitely helped me decide to buy this product instead of bondage tape!
