No, I Dare You!

Dare To Pleasure Set from Lelo includes the Luna Beads Noir to help improve PC muscles, the Etherea Silk Cuffs for some light restraint, and the Sensua Suede Whip for light impact play. Made of quality materials, this luxury set is to die for. However, it's a bit costly considering the cuffs and whip are best for light play.

Use

The Dare Me Pleasure set consist of three items: Luna Beads Noir, Sensa Suede Whip, and Etherea Silk Cuffs. The come inside a luxury box that is perfect for gifting your sweetie something special. However, there are things you should know prior to making the purchase.

In my opinion, the Luna Beads Noir are the star of this set. These are intended for kegel exercises. They are absolutely not anal beads, though, they can be used as ben wa beads. Kegel balls are used to exercise the PC muscles which can help heighten orgasm or help with issues like leaky bladder.

The suede whip is the next best item in the box, though, I'm not thrilled with it. First, it's not a whip, it's a flogger! A flogger's purpose if for impact play. Sensa suede whip is a good option for those who are new to the BDSM world and will see you to the next level, but once you are past the light stuff...the flogger isn't going to have much use.

The Etherea Silk Cuffs are my least favorite item in the bunch. Really, I can't believe they even sell these as cuffs. I wouldn't call them cuffs at all. They are more like silk ties. Again, these are cute for the novel idea of light BDSM, but for serious users, they aren't what you are looking for.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

The Luna Beads Noir are two 1.4oz (37g) balls that go inside a silicone casing. These balls have ridges so you can properly place the beads into the casing. One of the beads has a single looped hypoallergenic nylon retrieval cord. The beads are made of plastic with smaller, weighted balls inside. The beads together in the casing are 3" long not including the 3.5" retrieval cord. In the casing the beads have a 3.75" circumference or 1.2" diameter. The casing fits snugly over the beads as long as they are properly lined up. The silicone casing is smooth to the touch almost buttery soft. The plastic beads are smooth except for grooves to place the casing. The retrieval cord seems sturdy and well crafted. Overall, these are very nice kegel balls that are sized for most women. The Luna Beads Noir come with a small black silk pouch for storage.

The Sensa Suede Whip is the black version. When you hold it in your hands and take a good look at it...it's beautiful. The elegant sheep black plastic handle with the silver surrounding it and the beautiful and soft suede tethers really make this a stunning piece of equipment. There are roughly 30-40 tethers to the whip/flogger. The flogger totals 14" with 8.75" being the tethers. Nothing to intimidating to this whip at all. It's beautifully crafted, but the choice of suede means that the impact will be softer than a usual flogger that is made of leather or rubber.

The Etherea Silk Cuffs are the black version. They consist of a 43" long and 1.25" wide silk ribbon that slides through the actual cuff. The cuff is 7" long and 2.5" wide with two slits to slide the ribbon through. One side of the cuff is suede and the other is a flower/leaf design. These are made so you can tie them on your wrist and to the bed post or other ares. However, aren't recommended for any heavy restraint. Don't try to hang from the ceiling with these...that would not be very safe at all. The size of the cuffs are going to fit everyone. No matter the size of of wrist, you will be able to use these cuffs. The are crafted nicely, but almost too nice. This is why I say the should be call silk ties rather than cuffs.

The "gift card" was what many were really interested in. I admit to being disappointed. I had assumed that "gift card" was going to be a code given to order something directly from Lelo. However, when I opened the box and saw a card, but no gift card. I realized that the "gift card" was a card that is a gift.

Performance

I'll start with the items I don't really care for: Flogger and Cuffs.

The Flogger is very well crafted. However, the choice to pick suede as the tether material means that impact isn't very painful. Even with a good solid swing the tether impact is that of a light sting. No matter how hard I am hit or how many times, I don't even turn red. I like marks! I like pain and more than a light sting! The flogger is a good pick for someone who is new to BDSM or those who like light impact play, but for someone who is a pain slut...it's almost worthless. If you buy it separately it's $40.00. There are better floggers out there for that price range. Because of this, I have to rate the flogger 3 out of 5 stars. 3 stars in my rating means that it's just okay. Nothing special. Nothing terrible.

As I have said before, the cuffs are not cuffs. They are silk ties. They are hard to get on by yourself, but easy to get out of. If you hold them wrong, you might have to put the cuff part back on the ribbon. Which is a huge pain. Especially if you have larger fingers because you can't get them in the slits. You have to bunch and stuff to get it back in there. They can't be used in any heavy restraining. Which means they are best to be wrapped around a bed post or arms of the chair. You can tie them together, but with struggling...you can easily escape. Should you buy these separately they are $44.00. There are much better options out there for that price. Therefore, I have to rate these cuffs 2 out of 5 stars. They are okay and some will find purpose for them, but I find it hard to believe that most even have one purpose for them. They are nice, but nothing special. I think they are incredibly expensive for what they are as well.

Finally, the Luna Beads Noir. I love them! It's too soon to tell if they are actually helping with kegels, but I like to think they are. I have been experimenting with a lot of kegel exercisers and the Luna Beads Noir are one of my favorites. Their size is easy to insert with little to no lube. I can wear them around for 5+ hours. I do have to remove them in order to go to the bathroom. However, that is because I don't want them to fall in the toilet. When I walk and jump I can feel the internal beads bouncing around. They aren't the most rumbly beads ever, but they rumble more than the Hold Onto Me Bedroom Kandi balls. Their rumble is less than that of the Original Luna Beads. I can't complain about anything to do with the Luna Beads Noir. I would rate these 5 out of 5 stars because they are awesome.

Overall, as a set, I'm not super impressed for me personally. However, I know that my opinion is because the BDSM items are for light play and I am far more advanced than that. Just because I don't or do like something doesn't mean you will or won't. Therefore, my rating for this set is 4 out of 5 stars.

Care and Maintenance

The Luna Beads Noir can be cleaned a few ways. First, you must take the beads out of their casing. The beads can be wiped down with alcohol and the casing can be boiled or wiped down with bleach for sharing. You can wash these beads with warm water and antibacterial soaps as well. Toy cleaners will also work.

The Silk cuffs should be hand washed and lined dried to stay nice. They won't need washed unless they make contact with fluids.

The suede whip should be cleaned before and after every use. Don't share this as it's a porous material that can't be thoroughly cleaned. It can't be cleaned with water because water ruins the natural oils from suede. Therefore, it must be washed with a suede cleaner which cost about $5-$15.

All these products should be store discreetly away. They can easily fit into a purse or suitcase even together.

The Luna beads are made of plastic and silicone. If you are using them in the casing stick to water or oil based lubes, but if you are using as ben was balls, you can use any lube. Be sure to spot check silicone or hybrid lubes prior to using them because they can damage your silicone products.

Packaging

The packaging is very nice. There is a sleeve on the outside that the box pulls out using the silk pull tab. The box flips open at the top to reveal your items inside. Each item has it's own placement. You are given a manual and product registration card as well. This package would make a wonderful and presentable gift. It's decent for storage as well.

Personal comments

I wanted to mention the price of this set compared to the price of everything separate. All three items together are $119.00 and this set is $110. You save $10 buying the set.
