Pleasure tape - restraints discontinued by Pipedream - review by geekkink

Nothing says you’re stuck now, like tape. The sound of tape pulling off the roll lets a sub know that things just got serious. Sadly, my sub is allergic to the adhesive on duct tape, so I don't get to play with it. This thick bondage tape seemed like a very nice substitute for it. Sadly, it didn't work properly. If your sub behaves and lets you bind them, you will not have the problems that I did. However, my sub doesn't behave and binding her takes a certain amount of effort. She got this tape all tangled up on itself. In short, it was a mess.

I think this tape is great for beginners and subs that allow themselves to be bound. If you have a brat like I do who is going to fight you and be a pest about it, you’re going to have issues. It gets stuck to itself and turns into something dangerous instead, which isn’t fun.

The roll has been a functional design for likely as long as we have had tape. Pretty much any material in a long length; string, rope, tape, toilet paper needs to go on a roll; this bondage tape does not disappoint on that factor. It clings quite well to itself and even makes just enough of a sound as you pull it off the roll, which it does easily.

This tape is honestly really durable taking a piece of the Pleasure Tape and some plain old Duct Tape at the same length and pulling until they snapped the Pleasure Tape actually stretched about three inches further. So yes, it is indeed quite durable.

Pipedream's Pleasure Tape is made of PVC plastic, the same stuff your home's water pipes are made of these days. This is great because it likely means your not allergic to it. My sub is allergic literally everything. Trust me, check her reviews. She had no adverse reactions to this tape other than I couldn't bind her with it, but I'll get to that in a bit. PVC is a 2 on Eden's safety scale. Although you can reuse this tape, I'd suggest not. They give you a lot and it's cheap so use it and recycle it. Which you can certainly do, just toss it in the recycling bin.

The tape is just slightly wider than duct tape and apparently comes with 66 feet of tape. This seems about right honestly short of pulling out the whole roll and measuring which would have me ruin a whole roll I'll trust them on that.

Let's talk about use for a awhile. Bondage tape should be a suitable substitute to cuffs or rope. This isn't beause it bunches up on itself if your sub struggles against it like mine does, it's useless for actually binding someone. However, if your sub is already bound, that is a different story. I love using this to strap bullets (specifically these onesBeaver Shot) to my subs nipples. My sub is quite busty, a 42 DDD, and this will both hold her girls together, and keep the bullets strapped tightly to her nipples. So, you can certainly use this to bind a good sized pair of sweater kittens. You can also use this to strap bullets to other parts of the body as well, such as a clitoris or a cock.

If your partner is already bound, you can also use them to tighter bind their legs or arms, just don't use it for the initial binding. It makes a good blindfold, but not a good gag. The packaging suggests using it as a bind, gag, blindfold, or to dress the object of your affection. The warning right at the bottom immediately tells you not to use it to cover the nose or mouth, so don't do that. You can use it to make a bit, however, by by bunching it like a rope and placing it in the mouth, but again, I really don't suggest this. You can easily chew into it and then you have small plastic pieces in your mouth and that is not safe. Best to stick with binding, blindfolds, and adding pretty decorations to your subs.

I managed too get this to work exactly like thread tape and it functions in exactly the same way as pipe tape. It is completely waterproof so it's useful for that, it's just pink.

You can wash it with soap and water or toy cleaner, but it's a lot of work and there is plenty of it. It's cheap, just toss it when your done. It's also easiest to remove with a pair of surgical shears, rather than trying to pull it completely off when your done. Just recycle it, it's not worth the head ache of trying to dry it. Plus you have to store all the separate strips without them getting all tangled up. Just get rid of it after use.

Pleasure tape comes on a card stock which is nice because it can easily be used for storage if you don't rip the single staple they put in it out. But it's barely worth the effort. It is in no way discrete. You have a barely dressed woman wrapped at the wrists and ankles in the tape and in giant bold letters it says: FETISH Pleasure Tape. So even eight year old's could figure out what it is. The backing gives you some possible uses which I listed above and only lists one feature that is really useful. It won't stick to body hair. The claim of it being reusable is highly debatable. Packaging is recyclable, much like the tape itself. Toss it in your blue or green bin when your done with it.

Over all, I'm not really happy with this product. A good ace bandage works better as a reusable binding tape, and that can be completely sterilized by tossing it in the washing machine. This makes it more reusable than this tape, but not as pretty. Ace bandages are not as cheap however and not as long. This stuff is really fun for public play when you want a good look though. Eden has a few other brands of tape I might try that come in other colors and I will try those as well. This didn't really amaze me, but that just might be an issue with bondage tape in general. I still get good use out of this, but I don't think I will purchase more when the time comes. If your looking for something to spice up the bedroom, this might be fun for you. If bondage sex is just part of your normal sex routine, find something else. I still prefer cloth straps.
