Not Quite Enough to Get Tangled Up In

This would be a good purchase for those just getting into bondage or curious about it, but probably not as practical for more experienced lovers.

Pros
Pretty, smooth, stays in place
Cons
Perhaps not as durable as suggested, not long enough for more complicated knots

useful review
Perhaps I should have been patient and searched for a longer length of rope, but I was really excited about trying Shinju with my boyfriend. The little booklet the rope comes with is helpful, but I was hoping it would contain more advice on technique and different styles of rope. (I ended up searching the internet for the breast harness I wanted to try out.)

As promised, the rope was nice and smooth and definitely appealing to both sight and touch. However, I am questioning the durability of the rope and little strands of the material seem to be separating from the actual rope itself. Not to mention, I nicked the rope on the plastic container as I was taking it out. Now there's a bit of cut rope which I'll have to tape down so the whole thing doesn't unravel. Sure, it is my fault for getting it caught on the plastic, but I would like to think that "quality" rope would be more durable that than.

Now, I'd like to talk about the length in more detail. I know I'm a relatively large girl but, for me, 10 feet of rope was not enough to make a standard breast harness. I've experimented and founds ways to improvise, but the traditional way of doing it just doesn't work. Perhaps I wasn't informed enough before I made my purchase, but I was hoping that one package of rope would be enough to make a relatively novice knot.

Anyway, besides all my complaining, I can't deny the rope gets the job done with sufficient comfort. I've bound my ankles myself with a good amount of ease, and can't wait to see what the boyfriend has in store for me with this little pile of rope. The booklet did suggest the concept of binding opposite limbs (ex. left wrist, right ankle) and he seemed pretty excited about that, so we're hoping that'll be fun. I do intend on buying more rope, although not necessarily from this company. Depends on what the bank (aka my boyfriend) says and how long we stay satisfied with the product.
Follow-up commentary
While this rope is fun to play with for some really light bondage play, it just doesn't measure up to other types of rope. Now that I've started to get more serious about bondage, I've become accustomed to another type of rope which is a lot more pleasant to the touch and more practical for light to heavy bondage play. Now, I'd rather use my poly-nylon blend instead of this - frankly - over-priced and under-quality "love rope."

I know you bought this with one idea in mind, but testing it thoroughly and knowing how it works for wrist or ankle bondage would have really added to the review. I don't know how this would work, regarding regular restraining, and I think it would have added a lot to the review.

Silk is sturdy, but still a material one needs to be gentle with. This is a 100% silk rope, so it will run if not properly taken care of. Just like silk stockings, which are very expensive, yet worth the money.
